Plans for building spine finders were in the May/June 2000 (horizontal) and July/August 2000 (vertical) issues of RodMaker Magazine. www.rodmakermagazine.com

The May/June issue featured the most simple and economical set-up.

The artical in RODMAKER is easy to build.
You can also purchse it from Clemens Tackle.
They have a advertisement to the left

After reading the Rodmaker article, I built my own. I used a roller blade wheel w/bearings and a 1/2" dowel about 2" long. I turned one end of the dowel down to the size of the bearings axle, then turned the other end down to a cone. I glued the wheel to a short 2x4. If you build rods with bigger butts you might have to use a bigger dowel.
