I have a 9' 7 wt fly rod that I bought in Bellingham, Washington in 1989. I believe the rod was made by LCI and is called a "Striker Graphite" model SF907. Anyway several years ago this rod was stepped on between the last stripper and the first snake guide about 45" from the butt. So it "crushed" the blank for about 5 inches, their are several cracks in the rod all the way around. By looking at the rod you can hardly tell that it is damaged. Can this be repaired? Thanks Doug Re: rod repair ?

Yes it certainly can be repaired and nearly to like new condition. The repair is a bit too detailed to go into here but the Jan/Feb 2000 issue of RodMaker has the full story by Ralph O'Quinn on how to properly repair this and several other types of breaks. ..........................
