Rod Weaving Looms

Gentlemen:

I am interested in thread weaving and am considering a rod weaving loom. I would like to get some plans / ideas that will allow me to make one for my work. There must be some plans out there somewhere. What are the best type designs and where can they be found ? What are the things to look for in using a loom ? Are some designs better than others and why.

Thanks to All,

ART

The loom I use was designed I believe by John Stumpe in Florida. He had an article in RodCrafters Magazine several years ago on how to make them. Not difficult to make if you can find the parts(the foam I use for my looms are from Clemens) If Dick French sees this he can tell you which issue and maybe you can purchase that issue from him. They work great and use dense foam to hold the threads in place. Similar to the loom Clemens sells. Works for color change weaving also. Once you try them, you'll never use masking tape again!
