2431. Style Patents
Below ther is a post discussing Revolver Rods (put a little R with a circle around it here) and I find this concept interesting. I find it most intersting that it is possible to patent a rod building style. What would happen if an innovative person accidently duplicated certain aspects of the Revolver style unknowingly. Is there liability here? What if I see a spiral wrap I like and I duplicat

2432. Headboat rod
I'm wanting to build a light rod for bottom-fishing on NC headboats for snapper, grouper, amberjack. I'm using a Penn 345 GTI reel with 80lb. Berkley Fireline. Have been considering a Calstar GF700H blank. Would like to use ring guides rather than rollers for sensetivity. Has anyone had any experience with this blank or any recommendations for another blank? Weight is a majar consideration.

2433. Spiral wrap spinning rod
I had a guy e-mail me and wants a spiral (revolver) wrap spinning rod. I have no problem building a spiral wrap but can't imagine why he would want it for a spinning rod. I've never heard of anyone ding it and can't see an advantage to it. In fact, I can imagine that there would be disadvantages to spiral wrapping a spinning rod.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

2434. Fuji Power Ovals
Has anyone used the Fuji WDBSG & DBSGs, double and single footed power oval guides extensively or even experimented with them? They came out about 3 years ago but I have not heard nor seen there use except for some production rods by Offshore Angler.
I have a wild hair tickling my fancy about using them to spiral wrap a light saltwater inshore rod. Before I fork out the bucks for probably t

2435. Blank with 2 spines
I've got a G-USA blank with 2 spines. They seem to be equal. Anyway I turn the blank either of the two spines will turn up and they seem to be 180 degrees from each other. So, I reckon it doesn't matter which spine I build on as long as they're equal right?
Thanks,
Steve

I thought i would ask the question how many rod builders hear on this board use the type of rods they build on a reguler basis, ie Game rods, casting, chair rods, I thought it is a valid question that most of us should consider. Think about it i know rod builders hear in Australia that build rods that they have not even tryed them selves so how can you know what should and shouldent go into that

2437. spiral wrap again!
After talking with Don Morton and Billy40 about the spiral wrap butt guide placement I've come to the conclusion that when they say use four guides for the transition from top to bottom and place those guides before the bend in the rod that they mean before the bend of the particular action of that rod. Like, on a fast action casting rod you would put the transition guides before the bend of the
