This hint goes to all new rod builders. When wrappin a guide watch how much thread tension you use. you can crush a rod or cause it to break by putting to much tension on the wrap. After I have wrapped a guide and I doing the final alinement to the tip top and I find it is hard to move the guide I figure it is to tight. Hello all, I recently built a 14' spey rod and upon casting encountered a problem that I have no explaination for and was hoping you could provide some input. On all three sections of the rod, the tip 1/8" of the female furrule has the finish releasing from the wraps all the way around the blank.
