451. Re: Photo page??
Go to the Buy/Sell, glossary, library, etc. (at the top of this page) then you will see the Photo page. Not on the Forum List. I was confused at first too.

I got some denatured alcohol at Walmart (paint dept.). Most any store that carries paint will have it. (Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.) As per the burner: Methanol (aka methyl alcohol, wood alcohol) is best. I do not use an alcohol burner but I would expect paint stores to have it. I also think the denatured alcohol to work almost as well. I use a heat gun or a hair dryer because they do not have

I had a similar problem with LS high build. I heated it. Black stricks all over the place. I've never had this problem with the Flexcoat. Next time I will just open the window and let the fresh air in-no heat-not even in my pocket with the LS. It was 65 degress F here in the mountains of North Carolina. Hope it keeps it up. I'm going fishing tomorrow. I don't need an auger and the beer wo

458. Re: white wraps
I used it on a Batson 5 wt. Fly rod and the white becomes transparent. You can see the guide feet. I is like a "clear cloud" but the rod color does come through. One very interesting thing I did was use pearl metallic for the ferrule with no CP and got internal reflections of the rod color. Very interesting effect. I suggest you try it on the butt like Bill suggested. Size A thread

459. Re: thread pick
I got a set of five metal ones from Harbor Freight cheap. Don't know how long they will last. Probably most of these online tool outfits have them. I also have a Gudebrod-never had a problem with breakage.

Tom,
How do you seal the EVA grips before you apply the adhesive? My subscription to Rodmaker did not start until Vol. 5. Look foward to meeting you in Charlotte.

I've used small cork (~0.25 in OD) for some rods, but when the ID of the section starts getting small, I"ve used a small peice of round chop stick from Chinese resturants. Also use round tooth picks for real small plugs. Use a good adhesive to glue in the plug. Do not use force to insert the plug. You do not need a very long peice of material to plug the ends. (<0.5") As Mike stat

Tom,
I noted in the Fly show Information that you needed to pay $75.00 in advance for the fly casting courses. This included a Ticket for the show. This may be where this is comeing from.

Tom,
When are you going to talk about "flocking" grips? Is it going to be in your "Creative Design ..." seminar Sunday afternoon? With all the interesting seminars and demos, I see little time for shopping (probably skip lunch). I see a few seminars of interest also at the fly show. I'm really looking foward to the show!

Hey, Putter, you and Mike better not say one more word about negative temperatures or white stuff. If you do Putter, won't have to worry about stage fright or a crowd of people at Charlotte. If that stuff is contagious and you bring it to Charlotte there won't be any show or beer either. Once temperatures become negative and/or 3 people see 3 snow flakes all havoc breaks out. In North Carolin

As per what Mike said-I was able to completely color the rod such that the rod color did not show. I had to add small "daps" to holes which showed rod color during the first 15 min. Also I found that using a hair dryer helped the migration of the late additional "daps". I think this is what Mike refered to by "Flaming". I liked the effect that the colors seemed m

I have done it both ways, but I like the results obtained when I put a clear base coat first. I used Flexcoat HB and let it stand ~5 min. before I started adding the colors. I got better relults using the TAP pigments. When I used the Testor paint the rate of migration was not uniform. I have made a total of five rods-3 with clear and 2 colored. Too bad I did not take pictures. (Gave them
