A great place to start is with your local Trout Unlimited chapter. They often offer rod building classes for a very small fee. If your local chapter does not offer a classes there is a good chance that there is a member there that is a rod builder. One thing about rod building is that most rod builders are eager to share their knowledge to any interested person.

I have an Abu Garcia Veritas spinning rod that needs one guide replaced. Do any of you happen to know what guides are used on this rod? The rod belongs to a friend, just want to replace the one that is missing, if I can match it. Thanks.

I use a small triangular file. Place the blank on a solid surface and roll the blank as you use the file. I have a dermal but I prefer the file because the dust is not as airborne.

I am concerned that if I order from another source that I will also be charged and receive the order from Riley Rods. It would be much easier if someone would just respond my e-mails or answer the phone and let me know what is happening. I would like to support the sponsors of the forum.

I am having difficulty contacting Riley Rods after placing an order. I submitted an order for some material to make grips on Feb 27. From what I can tell everything was processed. I check on the order and it says "Complete" but I have not received anything from them. I have tried contacting them using the phone number listed on their web site and e-mail, also through facebook messenger.

I built a pink rod with red eva handle and red alum reel seat also had red wraps and red guides. It was HOT. Sorry I don't have pics my friend gave the rod to his new daughter-in-law. She loves it.
