They are NOT the same product. The guidefoot adhesive will NOT stand up to ambient temps above 75. So, if your ice fishing, you will be fine. Other than that, heat it up with a lighter, take it off and readhere. Should take less than a minute.

902. Re: Thinning Epoxy
Jason, Acetone is the way to go. But another option as mentioned above that also works well is to have the epoxy warmed before you apply it. I have placed the epoxy bottles in simmering water and warmed it that way. Good luck!

Bill,
I think you have a couple of options. You can remove the existing epoxy and place epoxy where the old came off. Or, you can leave it and place the guide into the old footprint left behind. If the old epoxy is yellowed, you would be better served b taking it off. Its happened to all of us in the past and is never a problem. Good luck!

904. Re: 8 Axis wrap
Another easy way to figure this out is to place a piece of masking tape around the blank at the edge of the handle (the bottom of the butt wrap). Mark where the tape makes one full time around the blank. Take the tape off and measure that distance. That is the circumfrance (sp). Divide that by the number of axis you want on the rod. Mark those spaces on the tape. Restick the tape on the bla

Scott, if you have a power wrapper, then get steel wool or sandpaper and sand it down. You will never be able to get the finish removed and not be able to tell. If you dont want a butt wrap, then dont bother sanding and just wrap with "A" thread to match the color of the blank and then finish. Hope this helps.

Jeff,
If you go to a hydraulic supply company and buy "Buna N " or Natural Gum Rubber orings, you will not have any marks or problems with your blanks. Rubbing any alcohol on your orings will only make the problem worse as it dries out the rubber and that will in turn leave residue on the blanks. Natural gum rubber has also worn better. I have built well over 300 rods without any pr

907. Re: stand up repair
Something to think about is drilling a small hole completely through the reelseat and the blank. Fill the hole with epoxy and then follow with a small diameter metal rod (1/8" or so). Let the epoxy harden and then trim off and file flush. I have done it to numerous trolling rods that have through butt construction.

blank still in one piece with splits up and down the blank (twisted), blank defect or possible misuse.
clean break in a rod that is used on a boat, user error (resting rod on the gunnel while fighting fish).

910. Halloween orange
Hello, I have a customer that has ordered 7 stand up tuna rods. He has an Orange Sailfish center console that I have to match. From what I can tell, the boat is pumpkin orange. Does anyone know of a metallic thread that closely resembles "halloween orange"????
