Dave, the only thing I would add is that the few that I've had in my hands are rockets. Very fast action. If you have a softer casting style they may be a little quick. Other than that, they are a great blank in every way. I wouldn't be afraid to build on any of them and be confident that I would have an outstanding rod. I've also found that what was said about the CC rating is true. These are de

Matt, on my Batson wrapper, only the knurled knob turns. Everything else stays still. Send an email to Batsons. They will take care of you. Jeff Hunter

Jimmy, I don't think you have to argue. If using the CCS to compare YOUR rods to YOUR rods, it makes sense to use it however it works for you. However if you are measuring a particular rod or blank and I want your data to compare with other rods or blanks, the system has to used consistantly. The system is what it is. Wow, this has gone a different direction than I anticipated when I started the post. But it has brought up a couple of good points, at least to me. The original concept of the CCS leaves no room for error because it is a pure measuring tool. Thanks guys. I know that it will obviously provide an objective "across the board" number for comparing rods. I was just curious as to whether there was data available that would relate to the "correct" weight realting to the first 30 feet of line or 50 feet or whatever would be practical for a spey rod. Thanks again for the info and I will check out the website and do some mo

About a year ago there was some discussion on here about the relationship between the Common Cents system and two handed rods. The opinions seemed to be split between it working and it may work but would need some adjustments. Since then has anyone tried this enough to come up with any valid data? I'm a new spey caster so my field testing is not of much use to compare to what my CC data indicated

Has anyone built or more importantly cast, this rod yet? I have built a couple of the 2 wts and they are really nice casters. Just curious if these 00's will cast more than 20 feet. I hate to pay this much for a blank but these sound pretty intriguing. Thanks Jeff Hunter
