Hi Henry, All our distributors have clout as far as we are concerned. If they choose to distirbute our products we will always support them and Mud Hole is no different. Mud Hole is very efficient at marketing and always quick to move on new products (too quick on Fuji and some others). They offer our complete line as well as our competition's and they do a good job for us all. I will admit Am

Hi Robert, I realize you probably want an unbiased opinion which I cannot give you, but I will tell you that I will never use a standard spin frame or match guide again. These A-Frames are awesome, they range in heights compared to Fuji's Y frames, higher, same, and lower depending on ring size, however they are shorter then match guides. The stainless frames are extremely strong and corrosion

Hi Chris, For what ever reason, I haven't recieved your email yet. I apologize for not being able to to answer your question, may sound stupid but I have never used the new decals and I am literally thousands of miles away from the inventory. Somebody is working in the warehouse today but they won't answer the phone since we are technically not open. First thing Monday I will have someone cont

Hi guys, I guess I would be considered a "US marketer", since my company doesn't actually manufacture blanks. But as such, I have utilized many U.S. blank designers and manufacturers over the years. We still distribute many blanks manufacturered in the US, primarily unique niche blanks that are completely different from the normal cataloged blanks found in the US Manufacturers' array

Hi George, The ferrules are tip over butt but I really wouldn't make this particular model into a 4 pc. The butt could work but in my opinion the tip's action would not lend well to ferruling. You can always buy several and try,,,,, just kidding. Although in 2 pieces its pretty long for travel, I do fly with them quite often from WA where I live to California and Hawaii. I once had some 4 pc.

Hi George, Probably a bit late on this but I want to plug our stuff here anyway. I have done a lot of distance casting from shore with spoons and light rubber in salt and fresh water for a variety of speicies from salmon/trout in the NW, halibut/bass in So Cal, also in Baja and Hawaii. The best blank I have found for 4-8# (which is what I use) range and for fighting large fish is our Matrix AM

Hi Pete, To my knowledge American Tackle is the only company that has offered blue frames however they had gold Titanium Nitride coated Zirconium rings. Very nice for blue rod projects, especially combined with either gold parts or thread. Unfortunately, we discontinued this line of guides but I am sure there are some distributors that still have some or would be willing to special order them

Hi Mike, If you haven't already cut the handle, the dremel is the ideal way to cut these parts, other saws will work and some guys have told me they use a fine blade hack-saw pulling the teeth away from the cut but I only use a dremel. Tape is a must to help keep chips and splinters from damaging the finish. Use tape across the cut and another piece on top to create the guide for a straight ed

Hi Marty, On the 9' models, the twill extends 45-46" from the butt of the blank. (The shorter models will vary according to the blank length and the designated actions) Fused into the graphite, we tried to make the material as visible as possible without negatively effecting the desired actions or compromising durability. The result is a stunning blank with outstanding performance. I am a

Hi Roger, Saw your post and wanted to give a couple more options. Shorter rods are fine but I prefer more length so I am going to suggest some 6' and 6' 6" models. A lot depends on where or how your guy is going to fish but for the average size fish in not super deep water I like the following AXGC60H 6' 30-60# line 9.5 top AXGC66H 6'6" 30-60# line 9.5 top They are graphite

Hi Mo, I haven't done the direct comparisons with the Titans and Fuji's Ti's yet as the fly guides are a bit different designs so I believe you. I did weigh the SS Ringlocks and Alconite/SiC guides and they were extremely close with some lighter and some heavier depending on the sizes. Due to similar physical size the Titan Ringlock fly guides will be close in weight as well, and with the Nano

Hi Dave, I hear what you are saying about the weight but remember its 65% of the total set which is substantial. In reality the major difference in how the rod feels is flexibility of the guides. I have a lot of rods left over from my Southern California days and many duplicate models. I replaced the hardchrome wire frame guides on a few with NITR's and shorter thread wraps (spirals too), man

Hi guys, Thank you all for your interest in our products! Titanium is truly an amazing material that offers some challenges along with so many benefits. Some of these challenges include material costs, tooling costs, and material sourcing issues related to the fact that several material grades must be used due to different forming requirements. While all this makes it a very costly product
