If you like to use gold or silver for you lettering, Testors makes a paint called Model Master that I have used successfully. Stole a caligraphy pen from my wife that I write with. The gold and silver Model Master is fairly thin, flows off the pen well and dries quickly. Testors also has a thinner for this paint.

Several months ago, I was surfing around on the big on line @#$%& site when I came across what appeared to be a vintage custom rod. The description caught my attention and the bid price was low, so I got in and bought the rod. The seller described it as a fiber glass casting rod built by Joe Brooks. I have watched just a few fishing shows over the years to include the one hosted by Flip Pallot

I don't know about the specific formula of each product. Reel Scrubber says that it is safe for plastic. I use reel scrubber on reels and gun scrubber on guns. It is possible that some of the solvents in gun scrubber might attack the plastics on reels. Gun Scrubber does advertise to be synthetic safe however.

I clean and repair lots of reels every year. Birchwood Casey markets a product called Reel Scrubber that work well for cleaning grease. I have also found that warm water with liquid dish washing soap works very well for cleaning. I use a colander to hold parts and scrub with a tooth brush. Rinse the parts in warm water and dry before assembly. Use a good quality reel oil and g

Shimano called this rod model a BullWhip. I have one that is broken about halfway up the blank. Bought it at Walmart may years ago.

36. White Rod Blanks
A couple of years ago, I bought some white 6'6" and 7" eglass blanks from Mud Hole. They were American Tackle brand. They made excellent catfish and live bait rods for Striper and hybrid fishing.
