Paul, I thought that having the fighting butt long enough, say 4" would give me the option to use it two-handed. I've never tried casting two-handed, but I wondered if it would beneficial. Thanks for the reply. Erik

I'm building up a 9wt saltwater fly rod and I'm having some problems deciding what length I should make the fighting butt. I'm planning on using a fixed butt of cork rings attached to the bottom of the blank. Would it be advantageous to build it long enough to use the rod two handed? The reel seat is ~ 4.25" and the cork grip is about 7.5". Will that give me enough distance between my h

Chris, do you have a model number for the Destroyer guides? I don't see anything in the current Pac Bay catalog re: Destroyer or Low Profile guides.

Thanks Tom, you gave me a great idea, if I cut off the foot of the thread carriage support piece at an angle it will change the location of the thread carriage and give me the thread position I'm looking for. I was thinking about using some bicycle spokes or piano wire to redirect the feed of the thread. Thanks, Erik

I have a GW thread wrapper that I would like to modify so that the thread comes from lower and farther back from its original location. Any thoughts/ideas? Thanks again, Erik

I have a Struble NS winding check. Is the stepped down portion supposed to slide into the fore grip or is it supposed to be a transition onto the blank?

Thanks for the good info guys. Tap Plastics has some neat stuff. It looks like some of the fiberglass rods will work great.

I searched and didn't find much info. What are you using for color sticks? Anybody have any good ideas? I've thought about varnishing some wood dowels. Are plastic dowels available? Would they work? Is there a good source for rod blank pieces? Thanks, Erik

It also goes on to explain that you must remove these costs from your
