Jason - This is the check that AmTak makes to help with that transition: You could also do a decorative thread wrap from the top of the barrel out an inch or so instead of that check. If you were looking to close up the top of that hood to get the opening closer to the blank, we have a few Matagi parts that will work with that AmTak UniLock hood but you have to modify it a bit for them

John - Here are the options that fit the KSK hoods: The Carbon Hood you are looking for is the CB-17 (the matte version) on our site. In your original post you show one made for the KDPS16 - please note that trim that fits the KDPS16 is not interchangeable with the KSK hoods - they have different OD's even though they both will screw onto a size 16 Fuji reel seat.

The answer to most of your questions is "yes/sometimes/possibly". While most size 16 hoods will fit on most size 16 reel seats, there are exceptions (like Batson/Alps Double key versions which will only fit those seats that have the double key slots for example). Where things get a bit complicated is hood trim for "hidden thread" hoods. Fuji fits Fuji, but also Matagi fits Fuj

Philip - Both CPXtra and PG cannot be diluted. Both are very thin (like water) to start with and if what you have is thick, your bottle is likely unusable as the curing process has begun and cannot be reversed. Best way is the marble the entire area as Aaron mentions - just keep the epoxy light as you get to either end. Then add your trim wraps over the ends once dry.

Put the tip top adhesive in a glue gun & draw out long thin lines on a piece of wax paper. Once back solid, cut them them down to 4" pieces or so. Easy to store and ready for use when needed. Just insert in tip and cut flush - heat tip & apply.
