Hey fellas, so I’ve built plenty of rods but never a surf rod. I’ve got a BH East Coast 10’ medium (2-6oz) which I’m pairing with a Penn Slammer 5500 with 40lb braid. I was thinking NGC with KW30, KW25, KW12, 8 KW8 to an 8 tip. Does this seem right?

2 Piece 9'6 8wt I built on an old Netcraft blank. Didn't use top shelf components but it fishes nice. It's paired with a Lamson Guru II 3.5. I'm going to finish breaking it in and give it to my mom to learn on. Next on the work list is a H&H 4 piece XI 9' 10wt .paired with an Orvis Hydros SL V. [
