I chose to use Acetone on a paper towel and I believe I was successful....clear finish is not tacky nor did the acetone cloud the clear base coat.....all that remains is to apply the decal properly this time, put second coat over it and cross my fingers. I want to thank everyone for their input on this issue. This forum is unbelievably terrific for information in this obsessive, compulsive hobb

I pulled the decal off by getting a fingernail under a corner and then very slowly pulled the decal off by folding the decal over the top of itself. Like I thought there was some adhesive left behind....I then used friction from my thumb to remove adhesive....then a wet paper towel under my thumb...followed by dry paper towel under my thumb...then finally the polishing cloth that came with the

I have a MHX rod peel and stick spec decal that I applied and it looks horrible.....I would like to remove it......decal is applied on top of Pro Kote thread finish that was allowed to cure for 24 hrs. Have not put a second coat over the decal. What would be suggested to remove it without harming the base thread finish?

I have a customer who would like a HS Mascot sticker on their rod I built.....problem is the sticker the customer supplied is not vinyl or plastic, it has some paper qualities to it and the edges of the customer's decal wants to curl up after the Pro Kote finish goes over it. Mudhole sells CRB marbling pigment in several colors....other sponsors on this site may very well do the same...I have used CRB Marbling pigment with success. A single 1 ounce jar might be a lifetime supply !! You must use sparingly, a little bit goes a long way. In one of Mudhole"s Facebook Live Videos ( I believe the video on Marbling) they spend some time using the marbling pigments.

I'm not an expert, but Is it possible experienced custom rod builders like Mr. Kirkman might even prefer the blank to bend a little, so you can place the guides on the upward slant to increase power and lift capacity as opposed to a perfectly straight blank??

Would anyone on this board consider trimming 2-4 inches of the butt end of the NFC MB 765 or would you just get the NFC SJ 736? Will be using 5/16 oz. to 1/2 oz. weights and Beaver style plastics. Fishing from a mini bass boat....afraid 7'6 is too long of a rod.

Probably discussed before....I'm a rookie, I've built about 8 rods...always used color fast thread, getting ready to thread wrap guides on a Metallic Blue MHX blank....from what I know....If I am using White Pro Wrap Nylon non color fast size A thread......it will take on the color properties of my blank...Is that true???? I'm thankful and appreciative of any advice. Just want to make sure bef

I am new to the rod building obsession and have a question for those who are more experienced than me. Would it possible to use the regular ol' "dime store" glue stick to temporarily put the small guides in place until they can be wrapped or at least long enough to allow me to tape them down with masking tape? I will purchase some guide adhesive but will not be able to receive the adh
