Instead of purchasing small amount of rod building specific gel epoxies at a high ounce to cost ratio, I'm looking into commercial alternatives. The kardol is a known product, but my search has also lead me to find fasco epoxy. They have two that interest me, the 39 and 110.

Regarding the bottom handle, how far does your cork overhang the end of the blank? Partially into a 1/2 ring, or a full 1/2 ring? Or something completely different?
And with that last ring, do you use a solid ring and turn it to shape with the opposite end of the blank in the chuck (seems risky), or do you use a cork plug?
Does anyone have a lead on rubberized cork plugs? .5"x.5".

Plan on doing a few fly rod builds this winter and am doing research on the required tools. On the cork turning, I'm seeing two methods
1. Make handle off of blank, set up rings on a 1/4 threaded rod or plain steel rod, clamp together, and when dry you can throw the rod into the drill, drill into a vise, and sand away. Probably the easiest method. Have seen some say that you shouldnt use the r
