Not hyping anything. That is the point. Additionally I asked the first comment. I understood after Geoff replied.

Norman you are the exception to understanding materials. Herbs comment about 100% titanium is exactly what I meant, whether you believe me or not. Most in the industry do not understand materials because of all the hype. I have been selling components for 15 years ( after my gun days) and always been confusion on the titanium vs TI coatings all the way back to my days at Pac Bay.

That was my point exactly Herb. We (SeaGuide) try to let you know exactly is in the product. There is a lots of hype, embellishing in the industry. Lots of misinformation. No one claims 100% steel do they? Norman, I do not know of a manufacturer that has their own proprietary steel or titanium. Just not cost effective even for the king of components Fuji. Check the SeaGuide catalog

My point is they are not manufactures. Please explain how they are if you disagree. In other words if I have Lamiglas make the blanks, they are the manufacturer. Because you put your name on it does not make you a manufacturer.

Are you looking for blank manufacturer? The only blank manufacturers listed above are Rod Geeks, NFC, St. Croix, United Composites, Phenix, and Lamiglas. The rest are buying blanks from OEM factories and giving you a sticker with their logo. Lots of times these blanks are coming from the same factory with different names.

Lower friction, lower thermal conductivity. I did not compare to nickle titanium stippers, ceramic. Some folks call it T#*Z$$e.

Hello, Just thought I would share the weights of our fly stripper guides. I know you guys are always looking for the lightest and coolest. I had some time this morning and weighed a size 16 with our silicon nitrite inserts. This is titanium frame with black PVD. Size 16 was 1.28 grams, and size 12 was 0.9 grams. We have been selling black PVD titanium to the larger US fly OEM for several years

We not only make all of our guide frames, we do all of our own plating, anodizing, and more importantly we manufacturer all of our ceramics, we have invested heavily into research and development of new ceramics. Recently, SeaGuide has received information from customers that American Tackle Company has been representing to the industry that SeaGuide’s XBG infringes the American Tackle the AT design patent number D627032, claiming priority to an application filed on July 3, 2007. American Tackle also reportedly has threatened to sue customers who buy or use the SeaGuide XBG guides. SeaGuide feels compell

SeaGuide also makes Titanium tops at a reasonable price. Typically the ceramics are heavy, except for our new RS rings which are ultra light. Specific gravity (weight by volume) of stainless rings is 7.9, Zirconium is 5.8, and our new RS rings are only 3.3. Check out our web site to find out more.

Hello, There are several manufacturers make guides with the stainless rings. The only MANUFACTURES I know of selling in this country are Pac Bay (CAXIN in China), and starting this week SeaGuide. Additionally there are manufacturers that make guides and reel seats for other companies for private label so it makes it almost impossible to tell who manufactured what. I have never see

Hello All, I am going to interject here for a couple of reasons. First is that Pac Bay Minima guides have had issues with quality control, second is that Pac Bay did not invent the stainless rings. ( I was with Pac Bay for over 10 years). Minima (stainless steel rings) have had small batches that have had the grooving issue on the rings. This was caused by the research conducted indicatin

Our rings and guides are made at our factory in China. We are a little unique in the fact that we not only build our guide frames, we also make our own ceramics, and do all of our own plating and anodizing. Our new ceramic rings RSOL are made in ultra high temperature ovens, under extremely high pressure. As for titanium single foot guides, I should have in stock down to size 3.5, and size
