31. Stripping Guide
I've got a question in regards to the guide foot. On some stripping guides the top foot towards the ring has two edges that stick out. Almost like one end of an arrowhead. Does the guide wrap stop at this point or do you go beyond it? If you go beyond it how do you keep from getting gaps in the thread? I hope this makes sense!! Thanks for the help!

32. Re: thread fuji
I really like the Fuji thread. I pretty much use it all the time now unless I need a color they don't have, and that's the only problem I have with it, the color selection. I do know they just introduced a few new colors though. I've used the ProWrap and prefer the Fuji. Hope this helps.

Pablo,
I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you looking for opinions on Fuji Ultra Poly vs. ProWrap?

Phil,
In some cases the rod spins towards you when wrapping the guides. This is the case on my Renzetti lathe. Obviously you could see the issue here if you stick a brush into your wraps with it spinning towards you. From what I understand AC/DC motors don't do well in reverse, and ac motors even less so. This is why Roger uses the DC motor. It runs in both directions so he can turn the r

Jared,
I don't know anything about the blank you're talking about, but check out the RodGeeks S-glass blanks. They use a graphite composite in the butt section. Good prices too. I just received my first sc-4 blank from them and It feels real nice. This will be my first build on them. Good luck.

41. Casting guides
Can I get recommendations on casting blank guides? I'm familiar with fuji sic guides, and know they are good. What are some others? Thanks!

Thanks again, Captain! If I lived that close to saltwater I'd fish it too. Have some friends in Long Island.

Hey Joe! Check out Rod Geeks blanks as well. They're in partnership with St. Croix, and helped design them. Great prices as well. I have no experience with them but have one on the way. If They're as good as I've read then They'll be a Great buy. Take care.

46. RodGeeks
Does anyone have fishing experience with the RodGeeks blanks? How do they fish? What would you compare it to? I've not been able to find much info on how they actually fish. Most threads talk about all the colors avail. and not much about the actual application. I've ordered a 7'3" sc4 Heavy action Fast tip for fishing frogs. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks All!

x24 on the Ultra Poly. Does anyone have any inside info on more colors coming for the Fuji Ultra Poly? I just wish there was a bigger color selection. Thanks!

49. Re: DPDT Switch
Roger,
Exactly. I am fairly new at this and have only built a couple of rods. I sold my other wrapper to my brother and upgraded to the Renzetti. I just wish it could run in both directions. I've applied finish at higher speeds and feel I have more control. Especially at the end of the wraps. I still can't believe seasoned rod builders ask the question "Why would you want to?"

50. Re: DPDT Switch
Thanks so much, Roger. Do you know of a DC motor that will mount to the Renzetti motor mount? I'm wanting to apply rod finish on the lathe and would like to have the ability to have the rod turn in the opposite direction. Thanks again for you time.

52. DPDT Switch
Looking for some help. I'm fairly new to rod building and just purchased the Renzetti Craftsman Rod lathe. Is it possible to install a DPDT switch to reverse the motor? I have the solid state foot pedal with it as well.
Thanks in advance for any help given.
