31. Re: fading wraps
Billy- if you can which colors would you stay away from? Or do you just tell the person the chance of fading is greater with the those particular colors.

32. Re: fading wraps
I will be putting cp on all of the wraps in the future. I don't like the idea of wraps fading in less than a year..

33. fading wraps
I know there is a lot of information on older topics about fading wraps. I have not had a wrap job fade until I started make wraps with the metallic threads No CP. It was a Pro Wrap Electric blue. Looks bad only after about 9 months. Is there any new information about how to prevent it or should I just stay away from metallic wraps.

This is a two part question. first on an open wrap do you guys just keep laying it until it smooth's out like a glass tube if so about how may coats. My epoxy jobs look great I just like that glass tube look with out the wave. I'm thinking I need to just accept the fact it may have some wave. 2nd How do you post a pic and put the link so I can get some feed back on my wraps I have never had anoth

36. blank question
I recently built a MB844 mhx for a guy. Today he called me to say he likes the action of the rod but would like one with a stiffer tip. I have several blanks in the same ballpark but the tips or all the same. Any suggestions?

I have a MB842 and am thinking of building a top water rod with it. I know some rather the p844 but I like the back bone of the 842. Would anyone not recommend this for a top water. Mostly med to large spooks and pop r's chug bugs.

39. video's
I'm looking for a video that demonstrates how to set up the different layouts. 4 axis 8 axis and so on, and information on figuring for the taper in the blank in detail. I cant just read instructions and go do. I have to have it demonstrated to me. Before I just start buying up DVDs that I don't need Id rather just get one good one. Thanks.

Any one know if the Sj 843 has a stiffer top than the L 843. Father in-law wants a trout rod with a stiff top like the SJ 843 but the line an lure weight is less than the L843. He will be throwing jig heads and using a poppin cork. I like the SJ 843 but thinking L843 may be a better choice. He will be using it with a casting reel.

Thanks for all of the help. I decided to go with cleaning the surface with denatured alcohol. 1 coat under the decal and 2 coats over the decal and it was great. Now if I can stop creating bubbles on the application of the finish I will be on my way.

It is a MHX blank decal and a name decal from MUD HOLE. But if the problem will go away I will invest in a decal maker. I'm currently looking at ink transfer decal so I will not have to put in epoxy over it.

How many coats should it normally take. 2 or 3. When it has a problem it take me about 4 to smooth it back out.

I did lay down a coat of epoxy prior to installing the decal. After installing the decal I wiped the decal with a dry towel. I then applied a lite build layer and it looked fantastic. I checked on it about 1 hr later and it started to become wavy as if the epoxy was moving away from the decal. I have two rods going and 1 messed up and the other did not, same decal and process on both. I may have

50. Epoxy over decal
I have been having problems applying epoxy over decal's sometimes. Is there a product or solution to wipe on the decal to stop the epoxy from separating from it and causing problems. My fix now is to follow up with multiple then coats but it is very time consuming. I'm only down about 20 rod builds so I know there is a lot to know. Other than the decal my wraps finish out great so I think its no
