It's just the red blanks that are no longer available at Mudhole. Also just checked Billy's site and he has the inshore lite7&8 foot and the heavy in7 foot

Usually those type of rods were two piece with the ferrule at the reel seat. If you cut it at the ends of the wood grips you may have cut the ferrule off that holds a couple inches of the end of the blank.

Yes they were informed but it just stinks to have to tell someone they have to wait longer for the rod they ordered . Then hope your next choice in a blank is what it is specified. Or cancel the order all together

With mudhole it's not only the phenix line they do this with. I had ordered an atx live bait blank it was listed at a 9 tip when I received it the tip was a 5 no where near what they said. I also had ordered a crb value line kit they listed this kit as fast action but the blank would bend half way down the blank.

I have built quite a few on that model blank. I don't think those grip kits will fit that blank unless they have a size 20 reel seat. They are good blanks for the price you can't beat them.

I am pretty sure I bought most of his blanks when he retired. I think that the name cardinal was on one rod that was built. I can check on it and let you know.
