Tried going to the Lamar site this evening. It would not pull up. Kept sending me to a page that said the web site expired. Anyone tried the site lately or know if this is just a glitch??? Thanks. P. Lloyd

I have a friend that wants me to make a two piece rod out of a one piece blank. Never done it. Never tried it....yet. What suggestions are there on how to cut the blank, how to fit it. Do I NEED to make a ferrule? Do I need to make it out of rubber? Thanks. PL

The Shikari sight at one time allowed you to buy blanks online. It appears this is no longer true. Where in Texas, I live in Houston, is a good outlet for the Shikari blanks?? Does anyone have feedback on these blanks? Do you like them? How do they perform? I've seen rods at local shows and the look of the blank is one that I like. Thanks to all.

I have a Cabela's Master Series rod I am replacing some guides on for a friend. I can easily tell that there were at least two coats, possibly three coats of epoxy applied. Began removing the first guide with a razor and you talk about some TOUGH almost petrified epoxy! I applied some heat with a heat gun and it softened up well enough to easily strip the old wraps off. What I am left with is som

Brad here is an inexpensive alternative. I had a conversation with Andy Dear several weeks back and he was telling me about this lathe available from Grizzly. The cost is <100$. He says that it works great for grips of all kinds. However I don't know how well it would work on reel seats. Maybe someone elso reading this can elaborate. Follow the link provided to the web page. If the link does n

Doc and Scott, Thanks for your input. I have been using my fingernail to try and keep the threads packed. I'll try the burnishing tool. It wouldn't hurt for me to add some extra light to my SMALL work area. I also have tried packing every two or three times as well. I'll keep at it and hope that things will improve as I go along. If anyone else has some tips I'll be glad to read them! THanks

Is this cross wrapping as hard as I'm making it?? I have practiced quite a bit the past month and seem to not be able to get my threads to stay together well. I have used the first pattern in the CRTA book and some of the diamonds look great while others are just impossible for me to keep tight. I've experimented with varying tensions and have had zero luck. Any pointers are aprreciated!!!

I tried my first flocking today. The results were great. I bought the kit from Donjer and added the extra expense for the air gun. Once you try this the first time you'll get hooked. THe air gun is worth it. This process was easy and really COOL to do. I read the article again from the RodMaker Mag and the process is foolproof. I have one question. When I received the material it was the Rayo

If you order a two piece blank will it come with a ferrule? If not what is the preferred method of making a ferrule for the two piece? Just so I am clear I am talking about the little rubber type ferrule in the end of the rod when you fit it together.
