Heys guys. I need a new pair of fishing pliers so i am on my way to the store to get some kleins. Anyway, I want to try to wrap a pair. Anyone out there have a link or tutorial on how to. It doesn't seem difficult I would just like to see some different patterns.
Thanks guys.

Roger ,
Does xylene remove completely cured epoxy? I got a little on a winding check and it's driving me crazy to look at it.
Sorry for thread jacking Lorenzo.

Thanks drew and Duane.
Duane, do you actually do all that? I can't imagine having to do that for every rod and every coat of epoxy, especially for a tiger wrap or something.

I think billy hit my problem. I think I am heating to much and causing the excess to drip. Based off his post that could be the cause of the hills and valleys.
I'll give this next coat a shot with a little less heat.
Thanks again all.

Wow. 2 hours and I have saved months of trial and error time. Thanks for the tips all of you. I think I may be over heating causing excess drip in some locations. I think I need to walk away also as almost all of you recommended.
Once again thank you all.

Hey guys got another question for you experienced people. How do you all keep your epoxy level? I have no issues with bubbles are anything like that I just get high and low spots it looks a little wavy if you look down it.
I have been using flex coat epoxy and a Pac Bay dryer.
If I already have wavy epoxy on the rod can it be corrected with out removing it all?
Once again thank you?

Has anyone on here done a white black base with white top tiger? A buddy asked me to build a rod for him with those colors and I can't picture what that color combo would look like.
Pics would be awesome if available. (I looked through the photo forum and couldn't find any)
Thanks again guys.

I have been using a shot glass so I am not saving left over epoxy. Outside of seeing the dry time, what would be the purpose of saving it?
I'll give this rod the thumbnail test when I finish it.
Thanks.

Hey guys,
how long do you all recommend waiting before you fish a completed rod? (I am using flex coat epoxy if that matters).

Hey guys another new guy question here.
when finished with your base wraps is it preferable to add a layer of epoxy and then add the butt wrap end wraps/cover wraps or just try to add the end wraps over the raw decorative wrap? I am wondering if adding a layer of epoxy makes it easier to add a smooth transition from the cover wraps to the DW. Apologies if this is unclear. Opinions, like alw

Hey RBers,
I wanted to post some pics of my first wrapped rods but the picture side of this website wont allow me to log in and post. Do I need to participate in the forums more or something? Any ideas?
