Hey Guys, I was at walmart recently and picked up a Penn Power Stick that had some damage to it. The entire first guide (the biggest) was ripper right off the rodall the threads around were frayed and the finish cracked. i am looking to remove the finish and the top layer of thread and re coat it but dont know how to get it off without damaging the underwraps. Ok i am working on a baitcasting rod for my little brother as i havent given him a birthday or christmas present in 2 years (i'm such a bad brother, i know). but its a 2 piece blank and i was wondering if i really need to put ferrules in. whats the pros and cons to putting them on or not?

Anybody have a good blank for the Barnegat bay and Raritan bay (if your in nj you'll know where) that wont break the bank. Going to be trying for fluke, stripers and blues.

34. Old Rods
Hey everybody i recently was given some old rods from a friend. They are a Sears and Roebuck 2000 Model Gamefisher (only the bottom half), a Garcia conolon H-551(bottom half), a SilStar 999-70BWS (bottom half) ,and (the coolest) a Bristol 50 that i plan on rebuilding. I was wondering if for there are any ways to remove the reel seats they are all large ones as they look like they would be good

Thanks to all, I did get it off eventually. those jar opener things can help work wonders. And douglas there is a third option; your stuck in the middle.

I was reaming the rear grip of my rod and my little brother tried to help and pushed it all the way down to the end, and now it wont come off to do the epoxy. Anybody know how to get on eff without breaking the cork or blank?

Bill he doesn't remember what brand, but it was a average thickness, and him and his friends who worked on them turned them for about an hour before standing it up, he didnt get drips or sages often. Bruce, thanks just needed to make sure they would work.

40. DIY Rod Dryer
Hey everybody, I got my blank and guides, wrap, and all the other stuff. I built the wrapper on the library page, but need a dryer. looking through old posts i found someone made a dryer with a rotisire motor, I have one left around, but have no idea how to make one with it. All ideas are welcome.
