I was talking about the slot that the rod supports ride in. I made a power wrapper. It works ok for now. But as I go I was looking for something a little more professional. I was going to make the base with the motor unit. (sewing machine motor and finish motor with rheostat) then buy the rod supports. I will have to make a tip support because the ice rods are so nimble. (2/64) I have 2x4 rectang

Can someone give me the measurements of the Pac bay power wrapper slot dimension. I am new to rod building and am gradually building my equipment on a shoestring budget. I am thinking I can make the base with some materials I have at work. And as time goes on add to it with factory parts. I found by accident and scrounging around the shop at work that a shaft on a straight shaft weedeater is perfect for .250 hole cork. the shaft measured .262. just enough to hold it. I got 1/4" locking collars at the hardware store and apply pressure on the top one to lock it in. I like the shaft because its hardened. I tried threaded rod but either bends too easy or flexes too much. Just thr

68. drying motors
I am not supporting any website or seller but I was on @#$%& and looked up synchronous motors and a whol list of motors in different speeds came up. Be aware some are offered in 12v ac which is not the same as 120v ac. But I purchased one with shipping for $8.50. I am going to try it and if it works I will buy others at different speeds to dry my rods at different times of the year.
