I had the same problem with the SK2 reel seat. After adding the new winding checks that go with this seat, the graphite arbor extended into the lip of the winding check, pushing it away from the reel seat. This happened during the "dry fit". I cut 1/16" off the end of the graphite arbor and it fit perfectly.

Thanks for all the suggestions. My new plan is to use one 6mm stripper guide with 4's for the remainder of the guides. I'll determine spacing by the static test. I'm guessing I'll need narrow spacing toward the tip since this is an XF action. I'll start the stripper guide at 24" from reel seat.

Is this the way to go or do I need a larger stripper guide ? The rod will be used with 8-

I did a sample both ways on the underwrap, using both the varigated single and the conventional two thread black and white. There is no comparison. The double black and white is clearly better.

Can you achieve a holographic effect using a black/white single varigated thread underwrap using the double (with sacrificial) thread on top ? Thanks.

I have never done a spiral wrap. Can anyone tell me where the spine should be located when using a conventional spiral wrap ?
