That's all you need and some practice of course. I prefer to put my feather inlays on a wrap. Put a light coat of cp down, lay the feather down, brush more cp on the feather and use the brush to form the feather how I want it.....just my way and it works for me, I am sure everyone has their own way.

Marc, the only reason I see an issue with an arrow saw is the 4 foot bed with arrow stop at the end that you don't need for trimming butts. It will just take up excess room. Your best bet is a small chop saw with an abrasive disk.

I have been contacted by a new customer that broke his beloved rod in two... I have a meet with him later today and will try to convince him just to put it back together but he is talking about a 2 piece.

Dear wealth of knowledge (aka rodboard members). I have built many rods and repaired quite a few as well, but something I have never attempted before is making a one piece rod into a two piece. Hints and tips please.

Time for me to chime in. I have played with cane poles for about 25 years now, a lot of fun with bream. My question to the bamboo guys on here..... would you refinish a cane pole the same as a bamboo rod? Thanks

775. Re: Cork ring glue
Roger, I prefer to turn my grips off the rod. When using epoxy I ended up with what looked like a "spacer" of epoxy in between the cork rings. I don't know if it was because I was using too much glue or what the deal was, and found it real hard to sand.

776. Re: Cork ring glue
Thank you all, the first few grips i made I used epoxy and had awful glue lines so I switched to wood glue. I just wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing
