Hey guys, Got a NEWBIE question. I was fitting my minima spin(Pac bay) reel seat today and was wondering if you can get them to tight? When slid down to where I want it it is VERY tight! Is this O.K. or do I want to ream it out a bit so epoxy has room between blank and seat? It's squeeky tight!! Thanks Rick

I've read Tom's book and was blown away on how much more there is to putting a rod together than I thought. But the more indepth it get's the more i like it!! I'm putting a fuergo 2000 on this rod. Just wandering what size guide most of you go with on the stripper guide. Or do I need to test cast with different sizes to get the best size? Yes I'm a newbie and lookin to save a little time or is the time spent switching sizes worth it? The blank is a 7' M F Spin SV5 croix blank if this helps. Thanks Rick

I think i'm goin to use an older Berkley Bionix rod i have in the corner of garage. Was out digging around this morning and found it in a stack of old rods of mine. it will be for one of my boys so it doesn't have to be a specific tech rod more of a multi purpose deal. It's a 6'6 m f rod. i think using an old rod will help i'll already know were the spine is and guide positions. Goin to try the M
