You are correct! I was given bad information. What I was looking at was burl cork. I am going to get some to work with. Is it just me, or do all of you have 100 different rod designs in your head all the time? Every time I try to work out my design, I find something new I want to try. I'm looking at very highly figured cork. I read "somewhere on the internet" that it was called cross cut cork. I'm just trying to find rings of the stuff instead 9of full grips. If you go to the MUD HOLE link and do a product search for knotty cork you can see it. After doing a little more research, I think I can get the effect that I want using brown burl cork. Does anybody know where I can find cross cut (I think) cork rings? Pacific Bay markets full grips that they call Bamboo Burl Cork, and Mud Hole Tackle sells full grips under the trade marked name of Knotty Cork. These grips are quite beautiful (I think there are a couple of rods on the cover of the 2005 Mud Hole Catalog that utilize this cork and they are amazing!!!), but they don't work with w
