I have heard over the past few months of people doing just what you have asked and done it successfully. I don't recommend Part A from one and B from the other, but if you mix A & B of each separately and then blend them together you should not have a problem.
Thank you for using our products

You can sand just be very careful that you don't dig into the threads, use 4-600 grit. Footballs usually occur in my experience by applying to much finish on at one time, so put on a little less and this should help with your technique.

It will remain slightly flexible, it will not effect the performance of the rod in any way

Can't say I have tried that test, but as Tom said that is not what it was designed for. I have 5 or 6 rods I use regularly in saltwater conditions and have not had a problem with them for going on just over 1 year. It must be applied in thin coats, or it can have a tendency to get cloudy. It is not the be all and end all for rod finishes but it definitely has a spot in the market. Thank you for y

Thanks for the comments everyone. I will tell you what I do. I usually put on the first coat thin just enough to wet the thread, this pushes the air out of the wraps, after that you can start to apply it thicker, I squirt it right out of the bottle onto the wrap and use a brush to level it off at a relatively fast rotation speed. I can usually get a build up comparable to TM high build in 3 coats

Jon,
Lou is right on, why Chester had it not dry for 4-5 days I have no idea. Thin multiple coats is best, because it does dry so fast you can do a whole rod with multiple thin coats faster then doing a rod with 2 part finish. If you do get bubbles you can blow them out with a thin straw or poke them with a toothpick or similar device. By using thin coats you should get a nice build up in 3 coat

Try our PitPaste, it is darker in color but when put on the grips in the small cavities it blends very well and is much better then the elmers product. in that it dries harder and is more durable.

Please use it on some scrap piece first, there is a small learning curve and so many make the mistake of using it on a finished rod without trying it first and then complain that it is no good. Squirt it right out of the bottle onto your wraps, on the first coat just use enough to soak the threads, spread as you do normal finish let rotate for about an hour and then you can use a heavy coat for t

Robert,
Another issue you might be having is leaving it in the container you mixed it in. try pouring it out on some aluminum foil to spread it out, as it remains in a closed container it naturally starts to heat up and causes it to cure faster. Please try our Threadmaster finish but working on your technique will also help you out.
Thanks
