I have a problem with rods falling out of the lathe chuck, it's a PacBay lathe with the upgraded aluminum chuck. I recently purchased a set of American Tackle "BBLG" guides. From what I've read, guide sizes are measured by the outside diameter of the insert ring (if there is one). The BBLG - 25 disappointingly measured a bit over 23mm at the outside of the FRAME, the ring O.D. was a scant 21mm. Smaller guides were proportionately off as well. Hello, I am trying to refinish a rod that I had as a child (this puts it abot a 1950 vinatge) It's a 53" solid fiberglass rod I used when I was about 7 or 8 years old.
