1. tuna block
Where can I buy what I believe are called "tuna blocks" ? These are fairly heavy walled aluminum or nylon tubes that get mounted just above reel seats on heavy salt water rods where the additional reel clamp attaches

Can I use metallic thread (HT) as an underwrap on rollerguides for a 60 - 80 lb. standup tuna stick.

I have a problem with rods falling out of the lathe chuck, it's a PacBay lathe with the upgraded aluminum chuck. In wrapping mode I must stop several times during each guide to reposition and retighten the but in the chuck. Now I'm a novice so my wrapping speeds are SLOW.
In drying mode, after applying the finish if I leave the rod for more than a few minutes I will return to find the rod bu

4. Guide sizes
I recently purchased a set of American Tackle "BBLG" guides. From what I've read, guide sizes are measured by the outside diameter of the insert ring (if there is one). The BBLG - 25 disappointingly measured a bit over 23mm at the outside of the FRAME, the ring O.D. was a scant 21mm. Smaller guides were proportionately off as well.

6. rod finish
Hello,
I am trying to refinish a rod that I had as a child (this puts it abot a 1950 vinatge) It's a 53" solid fiberglass rod I used when I was about 7 or 8 years old. I remember catching monster (2 lb.) bluefish in eastern Long Island Sound. Over the years, someone (gulp) put some type of epoxy over the two guide wraps, probably to prevent the dried old thread from unravellin
