i was under the impression that as a small business you were required to either pay when you buy or pay yourself via the sales and use tax form dr-15.

never used a dremel, thought about it, tried one cut on a scap piece, but decided it was too hard to control and wouldn't give good crisp lines.

thanks Mark there are some other inlays i did in the photo section. sort of copied tatoos or with the fish, found a pic of a fish i liked and laid some tracing paper over it and made a tribal effect out of it. not much more to say about doing other than what i said above, i didn't seem that hard to do. do an easy couple of piece one first, maybe some initials or something. try it on a scrap pie

one more tip. i found it easier to not worry about the inlay pieces sticking up and when they dried i would use the exacto to trim it closer to flush before i sanded it down.

i worked those grips off of the blank. it was nice to be able to move it around a lot while i was digging out the cork and the tarpon goes all the way around the blank. i think it would be a lot harder to do on the blank. maybe you could shape it with the power wrapper and some all thread. i've been using 1/4" in the past but just learned from others that this is kinda dangerous. if it pops

yes that is how i did it. i also turned the cork before i glued the rings so i could keep as many imperfections away from the inlay as possible, and i made a stencil to trace the picture on with and then used it to cut out the pieces. i used an exacto type blade holder, easier to work with than a razor blade. hope this helps.

i use burnt cork and mudhole's cork ring slicing jig shimed as per instructions" to create slices as thin as 1/32". 1 1/4 fender washers make good shims, they all seem to be different thickness. find a thick one and your good to go. rubberized cork rings make for very durable edges too. but its harder to cut.

i have a lot of rods with guides for tips and i like it. i believe the bending problem comes from putting the lure/hook on the hook keeper and spinning the reel handle with a little too much umph. pulling straight back on the guide and bending it. i recently put one on a 30# cobia rod to see if it would hold and it bent pretty quickly. caught a 50# cobia on it and it held fine. but the additiona

makes a lot of sense. used x1 to get that curved look cause i like that a lot better than the x4. still wrapping one thread at a time. by bands you mean laying down more than one thread right? i guess i could cut 3 or more and lay them down at one shot. still playing with colors to find fades i like. when i do i'll load up on those colors and do the thread box thing. gonna have to build another

is it +1 or x4. +1 doesn't really look like the picture in the book.
