Hi Starting to repair a 20 year old fibreglass 2 piece 12 foot DAM rod, the paint has been scratched and chipped off over the years, what do I need to do to repair/repaint this rod. It has sentimental value to my mate so I told him I would fix it up as best as possible, I have removed the guides and will replace them, can I clean up the rod and paint over it, if so what paint is best for the

Hi I have been looking at the Fuji gold cermet guides, the American Tackle GNIA single foot guides look almost the same, as they are considerably cheaper I was wondering if they are a good quality guide and would be a good substitute for the Fuji gold ceremets. The rod will be 6-10lb rating and used in both fresh and saltwater. Any comments would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Chri

I am about t build a 7 foot spin rod 2-6lb Loomis S841-GL3. I will be using a 1000 size reel. I was thinking of using Alconite guides with a split grip set up. Has anyone built this rod, if so what guide sizes/spacing did you use and how does the rod perform. Thank you. Cheers Chris.
