thanks chuck, I mainly live bait striper fish trolling or on the bottom, and my artificial usually has a treble, and the single hook set ups don't seem to need a lot of effort to set the hook. never hurts to get several opinions, most LM bass i catch are accidents.

my thoughts are a mh rod with a fast or moderate action, but all i see are fast, this is a quick glance at the mhx blanks, 6'6"
what are your suggestions
Also, with the 27x method should i use high or low profile guides.
customer says he can't seem to ever find a

10. Re: UNBELEIVABLE
i by no means have the expierence most of the guys on here have, but i will tell you the worst thing to do when your working on a rod you deem to be that critical. do not change your building style, if i read right you used tape to make sure the lines were straight, and this was a first for that part of the build, Everytime i build one that to me is a little more critical. (they all should be) an

got my first power wrapper at the expo, american power wrapper and am well pleased, i still wrap by hand but like the ability to move the rod supports and the easy roll while wrapping also it gives me the ability to put the thread carriage near handle for split grip work, that was the only thing i did not like with the hand wrapper.
only had one rod come out of chuck, (purpose of this thread) bu

put a rod on the dryer last night, went to shop this morning before work, the belt (rubber ring) had broke, and the rod was not turning, thank goodness it ran long enough that the epoxy has set to the point it would not sag or i would have been a sad man. turned out good, had a spare band and plan on ordering another couple spares.
forgot to mention that i had left it running 4 days

I would suggest maybe using a not metallic thread for the first few rods till you get the hang of it. that stuff is a little more tricky to use. and the tension makes a big difference.

16. Re: Epoxy?
i would have to go with the rodbond as well, lightly scuff the exact spots on blank, for better adhesion and you should be fine.

I put cp on all my threads, it helps hold the quides in place prior to wrapping, less chance fo something moving, I don't always get the opportunity to coat all quides with epoxy at same time.

mud hole, bass pro shop, and a gun store, i can't get near one without spending money,
as a matter of fact you can add decal connection to that list.

i have to supply any and all heat in garage, i hang 3 heat lamps above my work area, and have an old dorm ref. box (insulated) i have a 40 wat bulb inside and keeps my epoxy, cp and stuff around 75 to 80 degrees. works out ok, i don't mind a little longer drying time, as long as it flows smooth first.

picked up several tips over the past couple of years on here and my fisheyes are down to none on last three rods.
i wipe my hands down with alcohol before i start, as well as my burnishing tool, wipe scissors, razor blades, etc. as well., i use metal cups for mixing my epoxy and even wipe them out., plus a good wipe down of rod prior to starting any work and between wraps once in a while as well

28. reel position
just finished a 7' spinning rod, brought up a couple of questions on placement. there have been discussions on here about balance vs. weight, thats no exactly what i am asking,
do you determine reel placement bacause of handle style split grip etc. handle length..type of seat, or what feels right,
also will reel placement affect the casting distance measureably or not at all. the longer rod i

i just put decal on my last rod, the peel and stick from decal connection, i will never purchase a water slide again.
put the finish over top and it looks the best i have ever done. went back into shop while it was drying 3 times just to look at the decal.
If they can put your logo on a peel and stick and i am sure they can, you won't be disappointed
