The Product is a 1 part solvent based urethane. I use it as a coating for blanks as well as thread wraps where you are looking for a thin coating. The down side to it is that it dries quickly and should be kept in a dry cool place. I keep mine in the refrig. Hope this helps. Have a great weekend. Thanks Scott and Karen

What color is your blank? I believe that is your first color, then choose guides, and finally thread colors. If you are going to go bass fishing, look through your fishing magazines to find a photo of a fish. Examine all of the colors on the body and try choosing colors seen there. Same with big game fishing - blue marlins have several colors on their bodies: light and dark blues, Silver, gr

Scott has returned from Panama! The ATC blanks we brought to the show in February are out of the boxes and on the shelves and in the trashcans. If you come in on Friday or Saturday, you'll have first choice of the few Blue Trash Can Blanks. The are several 2- piece fly blanks in charcoal and the dark brown/red, and one piece blanks of varying lengths. We can't post prices here so you'll have

Fishsticks new Roddancer line of products includes "Pit Paste". It does a beautiful job of filling inperfections in the cork. From a style standpoint, I can tell you that cork is going to be huge in all the design markets such as furniture finishings, wall surfaces, and even upholstery. My personal favorite is a gorgeous photograph album I purchased recently. I expect this design

Hello Everyone- Last year at the show, I questioned a number of rodbuilders about the spaces they use to build rods. I received lots of advice about lighting, storage, room size, etc., and I wanted to share the photos I uploaded a few minutes ago along with details about how what we call "The Rod Room" came to be. Scott bought a house last March that required a complete interior r

Hello Again Fred, Mike Barkley is correct, at this time the Madeira is available on the Scott's Custom Rods website. You can order from there. Or, you can check the colors and match them to Threadmaster, Gudebrod, or another company and achieve similar results. I know folks have their preferences born of their experience building rods. I admire rodbuilders and the many ways the craft is pr

Hi Fred - After reading your post - I am so in to the rod design/color thing that I grabbed a seat with TiCh trim and ran upstairs to Scott's personal Madeira chest (600+ colors) and have some suggestions: 1. Madeira #1730 which is a copper/brown shade picks up ther warm tones in the TiCh; 2. Madeira #1615 is a gunmetal gray which would give the wrap a metallic appearance (without using
