on the supports, pull the 2 lower wheels off and clearance the metal between them so that the smaller diameter near the tip can not rub on the support. I dont know why they dont do that from the factory. I remember way back when i got my powerwrapper i learned that lesson the hard way on the tip section of a thomas and thomas blank

MHX s6010, you could always trim a few inches off the butt if you needed it to be shorter.

I have not used the new fuji sk2 spinning seat but mocked up a minima spin seat which is very similar and i hated it. I prefer either the amtak aero seat or lately ive been making the SBSS seat for all my spinning rods.

Batson SP 720-4 for an ultralite 4 piece spin blank. I know thats not what you originally asked, but since you just mentioned nobody made one, i thought i would steer you towards it for future use. It is a great little blank 6 ft long 2-6 pound line rating, light as a feather and breaks down to under 20 inches.

They probably meant a size 6.5 tip which means 6.5 64ths of an inch, which is 2.6 mm

I don't spine. I build on the straightest axis. If you want to test wether or not it matters. Grab a blank and tape on a reel seat and guides in line with the spine and go cast it or fish it if you want. Then line everything up with the straightest axis and see if you can tell a difference. Biggest reason I build straightest axis is I couldn't tell a diff when I tested and trying to line micro gu

I have and use the sp720 for trout fishing. Use it a lot for throwing small rooster tails and drowning worms. It is a great little rod. Definitely slower and less powerfull than the SB. Based on whay you say you are wanting i think you will be very happy with it.

Pretty sure there was a post a while back asking the same. IIR the reply from mudhole was that the fly blanks are already a higher modulus than the other mhx blanks were and there were no plans for anything higher as of yet.

next time heat the milky resin before mixing, it will go clear, then you can let the temp come back down a bit and you wont lose your working time

I use the guide foot adhesive you mentioned and have had great luck with it on rods with tips down to 3.5. As far as pull through loops, i just use braided line and i tie a small bead at one end of the loop so i dont lose it. I do wipe the braided loop down with alcohol several times before the first use so that there is no waxy type build up as mentioned earlier. They last forever

About a half hour before i start to finish, i set the AC fan to ON instead of AUTO to prevent any dust from being stirred up when the system first kicks on.

Eric they look exactly like the P series tops just have size 4 rings. They match the size 4 fly guides perfectly. I will take a pic of one tomorrow and post it. Just order them I think you will be very happy. They in no way resemble those awkward match style tops on the web site

Love the stcroix 3s56ulf-2. Very light and sensitive. I have one of the batson SP720-4 ultralite, great little rod. A real blast on the trout and breaks down into a nice packable 18" long. I havent tried the SB720-4 but see it is rated as light, with a little heavier line and lure rating than the SP
