G'day folks
I knocked this up for a bit of experiment. The only thing under the fingers is the grip, there is no seat hardware to get in the way. If I had reel foot from a broken reel I would have got it almost seamless. there is no reel scratching metal components in the handle and holds the reel firmly with plenty of strength. I am thinking about doing a step by step with the next one, will d

Built this one on a Lami 13' blank. See how there are no threads on the seat visible. What I did was after putting the reel on, I sliced off all the thread that was showing. To take the reel off the nutts unscrew and fall onto the tapered rear cork grip. The target species is the Aussie Luderick which is a herbivore, hence the green highlights

Multiple thin coats of finish came up so clear that in the photos looks like unfinished thread. Only the reflections on the epoxy surface gives it away

Hi guys
I am interested in hearing about what your experiences have been with this product. I am going to experiment with it but would really love to know how it is holding up for those who have been using it already

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I already use scotch brite for general prep work and I wouldnt be able to get consistent results on full blanks
Re the household cleaners, what kind of applications are they aimed at? I'll try to find similar products in our supermarkets. I am in Oz so those brands prolly may not be available here.
Re the auto rubbing compound. Would this be car polish that

G'day guys
Is there any product that can be used to degloss the common gloss black finish found on most glass blanks from the likes of American Tackle and Pacific Bay. I intend to do whole blanks so looking for something that can give uniform result and not cut down to the white undercoat.
Thanks

Hi mate
They are available in Alconite ring with stainless steel frame, SiC with stainless steel frame, SiC with titanium frame. Mudhole is a good source. The largest ring is a size 20 and is perfect with reels as large as the biggest big pitch surf reels like the emblem pro if braids are used.

Sergio, I use a minimum of 6 lowriders on my rods. The most I have used on one rod would be 8 guides for a 12' stick. The NGC is a good starting point but will require a bit of playing around with to fine tune it for the best casting performance. I would advise that you get the all the sizes and try different combinations of the 20, 16M, 16, 12m, 12 feeding the 10s, 8s and 6s depending on how sma

I use lowriders on rods down to 7' for spin/threadline outfits aimed at casting and running spinning reels/threadlines. I think its a brilliant guide design. A 4000 size daiwa matches to a 16M frame as a stripper works very nicely on an 8' rod with braids to PE4. I would not recomend them for mono any heavier then 5kg though. You will need to do test casts and play with the orientation of all the

PE8+ and very heavy wind trough leaders and poppers in the 150g+ class make for a lot of line turbulance. I believe setting up the guides in this case for clean long casts is the 1st priority. I have seen cases where guide damage has resulted from bad casts due to tangles, such is the force with the big lures. There is the added risk of injury if the casts go pear shaped

I know exactly where you coming from mate. We have a similar type of tournament circuit here in Australia based on our Bream. The team I sponsor took out the overall win in the last Berkley summer series. This year I have expanded to two teams, I am in the second team. We haven't had the success of last season but we still in somewhere in the middle of the leader board and in front of quite a few

I build quite a few xheavy saltwater spin rods and if you are not casting then you dont really need to worry about ring diameter or ring height in the traditional casting setup sense. I am not familiar with the particular blank you are using but here is would I would consider if running the @#$%& for spin
First of all the transition frame is useless here so I would setup all 180 de
