According to Fuji, T-LVSG20 = 33.0 mm and T-YSG 20 = 42.2 mm. If you want more Fuji specs, refer to:

I forgot to mention that Matagi sells a size 20 Lowrider guide that is 45.5 mm high. If you want to check the Matagi catalog page for Lowrider guides with specifications and prices (Japanese yen), look at: You'll need Adobe Acrobat with Japanese language support. Eric

One Japanese dealer that sells Fuji LC (Lowrider) guides is Matagi Tackle: They also carry these guides with titanium frames. I'm fairly sure that they don't even advertise those outside of Japan. You can send email to Mamoru (first name, not surname) in English at: questions@matagi.co.j

As Mike pointed out, most of the guides Fuji markets as Concept Guides have a "J" suffix; the "J" refers to a new style of guide ring . There are a couple of exceptions: LC surf guides (at least in all of the sizes sold in N. America) and the (W)DB Power Oval guides (Fuji has another suffix for these guides because the rings aren't circular). In all cases below, the exampl

Bruce, if you're set on using a Dremel tool for this task, I posted a reply to "preping titanium guide feet" a few messages below -- it outlines how I approach it. Just to warn you, I prefer to use an aluminum oxide grinding stone for this purpose, rather than a diamond disc. Eric

Lynn, here is my procedure for using a Dremel tool to prep guide feet (especially small single-foot fly guides). Sorry if this is long-winded. With my left hand (I'm right handed), I hold a pair of precision flat nose pliers using my thumb and all the fingers except the index finger. The pliers are used to grip the guide foot near the ring. With my left index finger, I push against the guide r

I forgot to mention that I intend to use the shorter rod for casting 1/8 oz. jigs using 4-6 lb. monofilament. For the baitcasting outfit, I would use 10 lb. mono.

Don, from my limited experience with hot shot blanks, they appear to have a very fast taper. The butt section on my father's 2 piece 7'9'' GL4 is about .550, but the tip is only a size 3.5. I think Loomis described it as Mag-Light. The tip section is very light, although in this case, I'm talking about only the top half, not the top two-thirds of the rod. The only 3 piece hot shot rod I kn

I have an idea for a project and I'd like to get some feedback. I'd like to build a 3 piece spiral baitcasting rod, 8 ft. to 8 1/2 ft., for casting 3/8 - 5/8 oz. wobbling plugs from shore for steelhead. The type of blank I have in mind is a light weight, hot shot taper blank. Portability is an issue here, so that's why I'd like it to be a 3 piece. In addition, I'd also like to buy a duplic

Sorry about posting here, but I tried using the Buy/Sell page and was unsuccessful. I keep getting an "Error in query" message. If you have tips on how to fix that, please let me know. I'm looking for the following discontinued blank: Shikari IS 561-2 SHIII 2-piece 5'6" Fast action I've tried all of the sponsors, but without luck. I know there are some alterna

Joe Meehan of American Tackle (Amtak) informed me that the Titan spinning guides are the same heights as the Fuji Y series spinning guides (BYAG, YSG, etc.), as Bill already pointed out. Here are the spinning guide heights from the Fuji site: Spin (Fuji Y series) sz 8: 17.6 mm sz 10: 21.7 mm sz 12: 27.6 mm sz 16: 34.2 mm sz 20: 42.2 mm sz 25: 51.0 mm sz 30: 61.0 mm Amtak has a sz 6 T
