Close-up of the Revo lower handle/fighting butt. Butt is turned from unordinary piece of visa birch. It has very nice flame like pattern. The wood is treated with tru-oil and polished in lathe.

My CTS Revo handle after remake. The whole handle is remade, removed old handle but wanted to spare winding check and feather inlays. So handle was installed "backwards" Quite happy with the outcome. More detailed story of the rod at my website:

After first build of my Revo i wasnt pleased, the rod was very tip heavy. Hence I rebuild all below winding check, coz wanted to save feather inlays. Handle is fitted to rod from bottom, new reel seat assemled and rod length was increased with stainless steel tube fitted inside blank so lower handle could be installed. Now rod is more balanced. This is my 2nd feather inlay: Cree hackle at bottom, then jungle cock hackle feather followed by 3 jungle cock nails. Attached between epoxy coats and placed there with cp. Only one coat of threadmaster at top. Also notice winding check turned from same acrylic as reel seat

Reel seat turned from acrylic bar. Easy to turn, just keep your turning tools sharp. No sanding etc used, only turned and polished in lathe. Wall diameter on reel seat is about 1,5mm. Installed to Struble U22

Fighting butt cap turned from same acrylic like reel seat. Fighting butt is made blue burl, rubber burl, normal cork with acrylic end cap. Butt is attached to Struble U22

My 1st feather inlay inspired by Marko A. Feathers are between epoxy layers and laid in wit cp. Didnt thin it at first so middle feather is not that well layed in there, but was good enough at first try. Rod details decal is around rod between feather inlay and handle...

I turned a reel seat from acrylic blank, this material is pleasure to work with. No need to polish after turning, surface is perfect after your parting tools touch. I also turned a winding check from same material. Cork from U22 is going to be removed and I make another cork pattern for its place....
