Hello, based on my research when you set up a vertical jigging rod using a spinning reel 10,000 or smaller the gudies are as follows, 30-20-16-12-10-10 tiptop 10. no most 5'4''-5'6'' rods. Why can't you go 30-20-12-8-8-8-tiptop 8 or 30-20-12-10-10-10 tiptop 10 ?

for me, the better one of the two is waterslide. peel n stick are kinda thick compared to waterslide and follows the contour better than peel n stick. easy to get the bubbles out, easy to install, easy to move around to straighted it parallel to the blank. no other solvent needed, just distilled water.

Threre's a guy in the nerbs facebook page that prints decals on waterslide ,he advertised it as $45 per sheet. I got a sheet from him and they were real good. I got half of the sheet in silver and half in gold.

is there any other purpose on putting finish on the underwraps other than it helps in wrapping the overwrap so it won't dig?

i'm sure it was deisgned as well as it could be deisgned. out of the hundreds of people who bought the lathe with the attachment, you're the only one who complains about it not designed right. perhaps you should design your own, find a machine shop to machine it according to your specs.

roger, the lathe is a rockler mc1018. Tom, the chuck is a teknatool 4 jaw precision midi chuck. the jacobs chuck goes to about 1/2 inch that is keyed, i tried to tap it into the headstock with a rubber mallet and it takes it, MT2. but i dont want to use the jacobs chuck in the headstock because i want it int he tailstock, since it is keyed, i want it to grip the mandrel so it wont come flyin

the tailstock has the 1/2 inch jacobs chuck. how will i connect it to the head stock? i tried putting the jacobs chuck to the headstock but the metal thing that goes inside the headstock slipped. BTA, $200 for the midi lathe, teknatool 4 jaw chuck and jacobs chuck, is it a good deal?

i have a question that pertains to this spiral wrap so i'll just post here. if you are doing a slow spiral (3 guide transition) and start with a 20 at 0degrees, what's the next size to use at the 60degrees, can i use a 16 or a 12? i want the running guides to be 10's. can i make it like this 20 (0) - 16 (60) - 12 (120) - 10(180) all the way to the tip?
