So with the micro's no guides are used as bumper guides and the line will touch the blank? I have used the simple spiral for the last couple years so this is what I am comparing too.

Ok... I want to try the micro's but for the life of me I can't figure out how the transition on a casting rod is going to happen with out putting a ton of guides on the side. I check the site from time to time to read up a little and I am sure I have missed lots of conversations on it(yes I have searched back a little). I was wondering is someone had a picture of the transition with the micro's o

I believe Gary Kline got Quantum to put the revolver wrap on his signature series rods. I had a guy bring one in my shop a couple of months ago and it was the 8' flipper of Kline's and it was wrapped the revolver way. I was very suprised that it didn't have the Forhan locking wrap.

Ok, I have been trying to decide which one to get and I just am not sure the differences besides the visual parts like the tubing rails. Is that the only difference? I will have it on a bench and it will not have to be moved/stored. The tubing frame looks cool but if it serves no other value besides storage I will just get the 3XL.
I really am just begging for some help making my mind up, Tha

Just wondering what you all use to mix your rod bond in? I was using some old small plastic solo cups with smooth bottoms but all I can find now is the wax paper type or they have ridges all over the sides.
Thanks, Mike

Chris, I just built a Rogue 7'11" (711 FS7C) that might be what you want. The blank weighed 3.3 oz before build and is a pretty healthy blank but what else do you expect for a flipping stick.

I was wanting to make sure that I have the right back issue before I order. I am wanting the one with the article on the simple spiral/bumper wrap, volume 8 issue 2? and just for clarification are they the same wrap and is that the new spiral with the "bumper" guide at 45deg?
The explaination on the back issue says "new spiral wrap method". The funny thing is that I renewed

Thanks Tom, I think it is crazy to include the local sales tax into the amout that is figured for the SFET but taxes are crazy anyway.

What do you and do you not figure this tax on? I have read the article and maybe I missed it but I am not 100% on what is exactly included when you figure the tax.
Parts and labor only? Parts/labor and the shipping for the parts to get to me? parts/shipping to me/shipping charge of built rod? surely the state tax wouldn't need to be taxed.....
Thanks, Mike

I have a glass blank that has 2 spines that are 180 from each other, I am guessing that you would put them on the sides with the guides on the soft sides? I don't figure you want them on top and bottom because that would make it act funny (only guessing, no expert). I have only dealt with blanks that have had 1 spine so I am really not sure what to do....... please help! it doesn't seem that one

Has anyone ever had a problem with Fuji TiSic guides breaking? I have had 2 break after they got bent and I was bending them back. They broke at the bend where frame turns to the foot. Not at the thin part of the ring but at the thicker part below the ring. I like the heck out of them but not sure if I want to spend the money on the next rod. Alconites are heavier but I have bent them back many t

Mark Grauf you wouldn't happen to be MarkG (BFHP,RR) would you? if so then this guy is from another planet. Some of the test he does and can do are amazing. Thanks for the test you have already preformed and shared, Mike

Mike, your 100% right about the refrence to the Fuji web site but I was mainly trying to state it is hard to beat the J-frame in the Alconite. The hardness I wouldn't have a clue except for what I read on here and other places. I do not use braided line so I can not comment from personal expierence on the hardness which is what Ed originally asked about.

Just my opinion but I have no clue why they even make the hardloys anymore. Alconite ring + J-Frame + new concept = no need for hardloys
go to the education section and click ring types. It says it all ; Strength - 1.8 times harder than Hardloy

I have just got my first set of titanium framed fuji guides and I have never prepared these before. Is there any special tips or anything? I have just used a sanding disk on my dremel tool when I prepared all the other steel footed guides I have dealt with, can I use a sanding disk on the titanium also? Any help to possibly keep me from messing these high dollar guides up would be greatly appreci

Shikari has a couple of tele. 8 footers, the problem is the color you want. They have 2 in there SHIII model and 1 in the SHII model. The SHII is gloss clear and the SHIII is translucent brown.
If you interested give Versitex in the left column a ring, Mike
