Sounds great to me. Batson has been awesome since I have been dealing with them. I use them almost exclusivly for components and blanks. I have all of my decals made locally so it is not an issue as far as company logo goes. Sometimes the customer wants the factory decal and sometimes not. I hope there are no hurt feelings.

That is what I did. I was just curious. I call and ask them. Most of the time they do not care.
Again, I do not want to bash on Batson. They are a bunch of great folks.

I love Batson and the products they produce. I pretty much use them exclusivly unless a customer wants something else.
I have to say that the decals I have gotten with the last several blanks have been really bad. They have been all crinkled and I cannot even use them.
Has anyone else gotten these or is it just my bad luck?
No offense to anyone. It just slowed things down for me.

Thanks. I was thinking of going with the 20 and then down to a 16 and so on. Thanks for the advice folks.

I need the guide sizes for a Seeker 50-80. Should I start with a 16 or a 20?
Thanks

Any, I tried mixing it slow. I still got the same thing. When I get some time I will do a few practice runs. I love the leveling properties of it. I just had the bubble issue.

I had the same problem working in 70 degrees or so. I am back to using Flex Coat high build and am staying with it.
I do want to say that I am not saying anything bad about the product. It works for many people from what I read. I just do not have time to take a chance on a less than perfect finish when I am building a custom rod for a customer.
When I use Flex Coat I measure it in a c

I am just curious why you would want to go with a 3 piece? Travel Rod?

Rainshadow are the only blanks I use here in Oregon now. The quality and price are great. I have customers who like them better than our other blank manufacturers hands down. Keep u the good work Bill, Kerry and family.

When applying finish, I always go back a few guides to check for bubbles. I then hit them with an alcohol torch. As the finish obsorbs intot the thread air is pushed out. I find most of my bubbles coming form the gude feet tunnels where the thread comes over the top of the put then meets the blank again. Once I am done with finishing all of the guides I go back again and double check. A bubb

95% od the rods I build are 8.5 or 9 foot rods for salmon and steelhead. You will be fine with a two piece and traveling with the rod is much easier. Some people swear that a one piece is the only way to go. To be honest I have had more 1 piece rods return for a break then two piece.

I was loooking at the guides and noticed that they have a BPCT black chrome frame with a TiCh coated ring but they do not have the UD guide to match. Am I missing something or did they leave it out? I hope they have them. That would make a very nice looking guide.
Thanks,

I am seeing all these questions about this. I understand how it works, but I am not clear on why it is the best thing to do. What is the sole purpose of it?
Thanks

I have done a lot fo referbishes on rods and have refinished the blanks with a urithane based coating. They all come out great and I have has not problems. Lamiglas has the polished graphite finish. Do they put any kind of coating over the polished graphite?
Thanks,

Is it a forecast component. If it is and you ardered the right reel seat componets, you should not have to cut anything. I have used many Forecast fly seats and they all come together perfectly. If it is a forcast component you can call them to see if you have the right stuff.

Has anyone tried spray painting Dura Coat on reel seat? A co worker uses it on some of his guns and it is a really strong flexible coating. I was wondering if it would hinder tightening screwing down the hood.
