I was very skeptical, but it does live up to the claims! Distance isn't the only thing, and although it excels at that, it's the smoothness that is most notable. The noticeably less casting effort is very dramatic. It's a winner, no doubt.

I just built some fly rods using AMTAK's Aluminum Fly seats. Let me just say, I'm very impressed. They had some very cool "modern" designs, while still holding true to the fact they belong on fly rods. The anodizing was flawless, and I love the fact that each nut had it's own "O" ring. My favorites are the Braided ABW12T-B, and the "Triangle" ATW12T-B. On 2- 8wts, th

Billy, I'm not being sarcastic at all, I love this stuff. I appreciate someone going through the trouble, and then sharing. I'm bummed that it is this weekend, it will be hard to make it, but I'll get in contact with you and try my best to be there.

You can use a guide as a top. I'd say use a heavy duty micro guide like an AMTAK Artus HD

Even NCP or Colorfast threads will change color, the lighter threads are more noticeable. However, they won't turn translucent like regular thread. Color preserver is what you'll need to do if you want to keep the color as close as possible. Plus, the color preserver will displace air better than finish

I agree with John, the fisherman are always the ones who need convincing. This will work good. Like you other guys, I've used the "M"s down to the fly guides, and it's worked well

The KL-H are still on their way to Angler's resource. Should be landing soon, but still need to be shipped out to distributors.

Hi Jack, even with NCP thread there will be a little color change, especially the lighter threads. Color preserver, even with NCP thread, will help retain color the best.

I am always quite shocked, and mostly disappointed, when posters want to enter into trivial word engagement, rather than just sharing knowledge in, well, an open forum. If somehow my words came across that offended someone in some way, well that was never my intention. At the same time, I don’t think I ever sounded like Jesus Christ. What I did give was an honest, accurate assessment of a rod

I know this is redundant, but it truly depends on the person who uses the rod. I know I can tell the difference between guides with different ring and frame materials. Other people can't, or simply don't care. I had a customer who money didn't seem like it would be a concern, he was putting Stellas on the new rods. I asked him "why didn't you want to use the Titanium SIC guides? They are li

The AMTAK Titanium Nanolite guides are an awesome value. Lightweight, plenty strong, and priced right.

I'd also go with the NIRLC instead of the NIRLS. The NIRLC is lighter and plenty strong for the application

Lami had both 3m and 3E. The E had an extra fast action, and has been continued for some time now. We had both go through our shop, and the 3E was a much more powerful blank. The 3E is still sought after by the guys who loved it

I love the "Naked" blanks. Better performance aside, they always look the same. I can't tell you how many times someone would bring a rod into my shop, that they had for only a couple seasons, and wanted to know "how much to refinish the blank". Some looked horrible, some just a few nicks, and some with the color burnt out on one side from lying on the deck of their bass boat.

These were great frames for surf rods. It's a shame the "K" frame killed it.

I'm from the school of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". There is a lot to be said for sticking to one finish and learning the finish's characteristics. Then you will get better with applying it as you learn.

I like to assemble the grip to the seat first. Insert a foam arbor in the reel seat at the same time. When you are ready to mount it to the blank, you just drill and ream like you normally would.
