Have any of you made decals out of the inkjet paper? If so how are they holding up in the UV light?

Ipurchased a tube of Lamar Manufacturings Adhesive from Karen at Bingham and tried it last night. I like the idea of using a calking gun the measuring is automatic and not as messy to use. I applied it with a pop sickle stick and liked the way it stayed on the rod while sliding the cork on. Checked the rod this morning every thing looks great. You might want to give this adhesive a try it's easy

I like the one peice rods for catfishing. St. Croix has some E-Glass blanks that are great and not to pricey. They are satin black and have great back bone and a fairly soft tip for casting bait. Lenghts are 7, 8 and 9'. I order mine through Karen at Bingham.

I see a lot of rods being built with out a forgrip. It’s been fun explaining to customers the advantages of a spiral wrap on a casting rod. Most look at them like your crazy until they fish one. What are the advantages of no foregrip?

Ken, Like the other guys said its pretty much personal prefferance. I like Glass Coat the clarity it has on the feather inlays I do it great. I also like to use Permagloss on the lighter rods. The Glass Coat does have a short pot but the plus side is I don't have to use a drying motor with it I rotate the rod 180 every 10to 15 minutes for an hour.

Pete, As Hank said the side you place the guides on is optional. I'm left handed and use a right hand reel so the rod never leaves my left hand. On rods for myself I spiral to the right. I do alot of flipping so a spiral to the right seems better to me than crossing the line over the rod.

Good morning, I would like to know what your suggestions would be for a flyrod for Bone fishing. 1. 8wt or 9wt 2. 9' or 10' 3. Guide type ceramic or wire 4. I like building on St. Croix blanks and would like to use either the SC3 or SC4 series blanks Thanks Steve French
