Aaron, If it is any help to you, we have been building saltwater rods for the last few years, exclusively using the Batson Double Black Chrome ss304 guides and have also been using the SS316 X series, and have had no complaints or issues. GySgt. Kaufmann, I have been using the Batson Rainshhadow IC722, a 6 ft medium. I personally like the quicker response from the 6 footer and with our stained water and milfoil here in Minnesota, we get get up tight and personal with the docks without spooking the fish. Al McColl Midwest Rod & Reel
