Built two on the Calstar RT 180 for giant bluefin for a charter captain in chatham on the cape.Aftco Storabutt SB6 curved butt, for swivel rod holders. Aftco big foot super heavy duty roller guides.Have one blank left in the racks that belongs to a customer in Rhode Island.

IMO' I would send the seat back and get the next size up to fit the blanks outside diameter, with bushings.Did you check the hoods on the reel seat to find out if they fit the reel you will be using, if so you could ream it, but why take the chance unless you have a lathe.

Tim, I ordered the Batson 9094 "extra fast" action blank for a faster line recovery needed in the windy conditions we experience here in the Rhode Island area. Is this blank made in U.S.A . The Rainshadow is but just curious about this Batson. Besides the taper this blank sells for less than the Rainshadow.

Cliff, What and all I know about this boat rod is that it looks like a Lamiglas fiberglass honey color 7' one piece with a tip size # 10 he will be using 20/ 30lb. line on a conventional set up.The rod was built with the XBG guides now he wants to replace these with the XBBG braced guides. My question being will this change the action of the rod by using the braced guides.He mentioned that the

The customer asked me to replace all six guides with CXBBG braced guides. I mentioned that only the first to would be sufficient.He said he wanted all six braced, would this put to much stress on the upper section of the rod? Any help would be appreciated.
