Funny, I just did my annual broken St Croix stuff and did upgrade to a new legend xtreme (1 week old). Same model as an older legend elite and LTBC. I really am not, but kind of impressed with the legend extreme.
So I was out pitching beavers and using the old legend elite and new legend xtreme. Although the weight was slightly lighter in the hand (both equipped with steez's) with the xtreme.

What blank manuf are using the new 3M resin in their blanks. If they are can I get that exact model with the same graphite in a standard layup. I really gotta check this out just deaden some curiosities.

Yeah I tried it, no matter how straight you think a blank is, there is always a curve. I have found that the old naked or eyeglass corrected if needed eye works best. I'd say save your money and time and get a nicer blank or components.

My opinion may not mean much but a 10-20 lb MH blank may not get the job done in hydrilla. I have a few years experience using that vexilar finding caves in hydrilla and can tell you when you get a nasty 8lb Choke Canyon pig on punching grass you will wish you had more tail in the rod. If you can let us know where this rod will be put to use most often, that would help a ton. For most application

Google translator is awesome!
DAIWA evolution of the rod is not an exaggeration to say that the history of lighter parts and detailed one-point reel seat to pursue a lighter one as far as possible to the point of that era, the era has been pioneered. And in 2010, it was realized the long-cherished wish to say anything to guide light at last. It, "AGS = Eagaidoshisutemu" is.

I am curious as to the actual in your hand feeling difference between the seeker BC706 and the BC706"s". I know the construction differences, but want to know the real life feeling difference.

I had talked to Bob at length about this technique as it is a necessity in the clear TX waters in winter. He suggested a 9'-9'6" minimum length. 10' maybe being most ideal just a tad longer learning curve in casting technique. Since sensitivity is negligible. Bob hooked me up with a forecast 2 piece and it turned out to do the job well. I did only get the 9' 6wt' rod and it did well. I don;t

Roger,
I wish I could do that, but in the past 3 mos I've used over a dozen rods to catch an equal number of fish on each using different baits. I do live near the Miss R, L Mich, and have the most diverse lakes from deep clear to shallow swamps here in SE Wisconsin. So for me I need at least five just to be halfway comfortable.
The five will be:
6' MH mod/fast jerkbait
6'6" MH mod/

Fiberglass is an acquired taste. Once you use it a bunch you will get used to it and not use much else in my belief for the proper application. I really don't believe the whole speed of pros vs. joes hookset. Kind of weird, fished with numerous pros and they are all unique just as ourselves. My whole deal is use what you have confidence in. If you do feel you can improve in what you are doing the

What application is he using it for. If open water ledge fishing the lamiglas may be the best fit. If dock fishing, you may want to consider other options. It is nice to have stopping power in heavy cover or hairy situations. I do use glass tipped or glass/graphite composite rods for dock fishing to have the forgiveness to allow the bait to get in the mouth of the fish well and the graphite butt

Another bit of what could be worthless advice is try to get info from your peers in your region of the country. Up north like Mich/Wis a 6'6" MHF is a decent t-rig set-up. In Texas a 7'3" HF or flipping HMF is what most folks are looking for as you can see that is a huge difference for what really is the same application. Different size fish and different mentality though.

5 Min will work in a pinch. In fact I have a 8 year old rod I did like that about 5 years ago and the nasty water contaminated thread and cracked yellow epoxy is still doing a good enough job to hold the guide in place. I don't see why you can't use a 5 min epoxy in a hurry or even one of those 1 hr epoxies also if you feel the nerves need more time. We've all gotten creative enough to make the p

The threadmaster I have is usable after about 10-12 hrs max.. Although there are a number of variables to this equation. In a 75* room I think 8-10 hrs is all you'll need.. Put a lamp right on it and it will be usable by tomorrow.

This blank will throw 1/4 oz with a quality reel quite well. I have three of them and use them often for LC cranks and DD22's. If he is using it around docks it may not be the best application as it does bend through nearly 3/4 of the rod when loaded up and not great for pulling hogs out of cover.
You are also correct on the model number, that is the same as the Skeet Reese rod.

I don't get it. I would imagine SS304 is 304 grade stainless. Does it have a Tix PVD coating? If so link up a pic. that would be cool looking. If plain old TiN recoils would be close I'd imagine. Don't know though, there are all sorts of marketing jargon in this industry that misleads everyone including myself.

I too like the action of the hot shot kind of, but obviously as you know is not the BCR. This is one action that I do not want to compromise very much if any at all if I can help it. Will definitley send you an e-mail. Tks, Bryan.

I have, and they are to me not near the same action as the BCR. JMHO, Although St Croix does make a great inshore blank that is very crisp and light compared to their peers in that price class. Would recommend them just not this particular time.

I really like the x-fast action of the BCR GLX Loomis. Other than Croix whose options are limited over 6'9" who else has a blank extremely similar to the GLX BCR? Thanks.

I do quite a bit of vertical jigging, and have found that some of the cheaper composite rods perform best for this application. Since it is primarily a treble hook application and is a reaction bite type set up. A softer tip is necessary, but also want good forgiveness near the boat for fighting a fish with trebles. Really a GL2, SCII, or cb series forecast will all do the job well. I just prefer

For the DD-22 great, for the hotlips not so much, might be better off with a composite for the hotlips, they move a ton of water.

If anyone has ever used a Waterloo Scrape rod or the new Flacon Cara El Toro ex-heavy power rods. Does anyone make a blank like that. Andy sold a couple All Star bigboy blanks that were very similiar, but they are not anywhere to be found anymore and need a couple blanks like that for when I go to Falcon Int'l Resevoir in a few weeks. The lake is darn near full, and the bass are in the trees.

I do it. For what it is worth, I buy a $10 blank that is discontinued from Andy Dear or something. Build it and say it's a custom rod with a very special application purpose. Then if that sponsored person generates 2 sales. I'm in the black big time. Also my two guys in my promotional staff are already great salesman. All you need to remember is perception is reality, and you'll do alright. I'd g

I'm looking for a good blank for this application. Living on these stupid clear highland res. and winter nearing. I need to build a couple of these so I can compete in my Jan. tourneys. Plus if it turns out that a blank greater than 8 ft. is best, I would prefer it to be a two piece. Thanks, Bryan.

The Swifty Hypalon adhesive is slicker than slick
.
That is funny, what adhesive in its liquid form isn't. I dont care if it is an amine based 2 part, poylester with MEKP, a vinylester they all are slick when wet. Dude you are not a chemist are you? I do appreciate the plug though. Nice not having any shame in your game. Sorry just had to say something. I thought it was a funny posting. All

MB 841 E from lamiglas gets my endorsement. Although I am not a big fan of graphite/ graphite blend blanks for crankin'. I have built on ATC (advanced tubular composites- Bob Loomis' co.) cranking blank and have been very impressed. It was light, small diameter, yet very slow and able to throw baits a mile for a 7' rod. It really is all personal preference, I prefer an even slower blank than the

Yes. As a rule of thumb that is usually pretty true. You get what you pay for.
