This is a grip I made and the customer decided he didn't like it. It is Cocobolo on the ends with maple and walnut trim and spalted black tupelow in the center. It has a small punky area and two tiny worm holes. (pink circles)The grip is right at 6 1/2 inches long.

Had some issues with the tie off on this one but easily fixed. Handle is Maple/Mahogany and burl cork block bought from Mudhole. AmTac TITAN guides spiral wrapped.

A rod I just haven't put epoxy on yet. It was made in celebration of Portsmouth Football Club making it into the semi finals this year. I'll post more pics of the grips and overall rod in a day or two.

As I explain in the tutorial, I didn't prep the guide foot as I was just using it as an example.

Just something I whipped up this morning. It's cherry and white oak with a CA finish buffed a bit with white diamond. I don't really have a rod for it yet but I think I can find it a home.

Another rod that will hopefully get me some work from Bass Pro. GLoomis IMX blank with Fuji Ti guides. I won't be using the Mudhole wood reel seats on a rod with this diameter again as I really don't like how thin I had to bore the seat out to get it on the rod. The wood trim is zebrawood with a CA/BLO finish.

GLoomis IMX 6-10# revolver wraped with blue/gold guides and a Mudhole maple reel seat. Split grip with checkerboard accent rings of ash and mahogany with a thin piece of aluminum just to brighten things up. The buttcap is hollowed out and gold leafed with a Lapis Lazuli cabochon under flexcoat. This is the first rod I have made as with my new company "Cabochon Rods". In the near

The tigers eye look of the GLoomis GL3 is gorgeous. Brown thread with copper trim was perfect color choice.

I finally got an opportunity to post the pictures for this rod and I would like to thanks all those who helped me out with feedback... especially Mr Rich Forhan. It came out perfect and the color of the GL3 is phenominal.

This is by FAR my favorite Holo/tiger wrap. HT Silver, Garnet nylon CPed for bottom layer, 246 NCP blue for top. The effect is amazing in the sun. Looks like a wind blown flag. I burnished just in "S" shapes to try to prevent bullseyes and was succesfull. This would make a great underwrap for a Flag butt wrap. I hope to actually do this on a rod in the near future.

Everything about this rod was unfortunately rushed. The packing could be better and the finish, while better than I expected, could have used some work in a couple of areas. About the only thing I was happy with was the initials…

LSU rod got me the customer to make this one. Came out very well and looks "rich". I stopped short of the full 3D effect as the customer wanted more white than the image I showed him.
