I am pretty sure it is free on your end. The app is around $3 for the phones and I'm not sure but there may be free clients as well. I have to run right now, but will post a link when i get back. (I know, should have done that to start with) thanks.

FWIW, I have 8 running guides on the 700H. Going down to the 8 ring and an aftco roller top. They are AT BZBSU 20-16-12-10-10-8-8-8. That's all pretty useless if your useing different guides. I Wouldn't worry about extra guides on the blank if u like the layout. The blank seems more moderate or mod-fast to me. Well atleast the slowest "Fast " blank that i have. The tip is kin

Mike, I use a 700H for grouper as well. The rear grip on mine is 8.5" plus gimble and was set up to fish with a belt. Thing is, on party boats or even on private boats I never have the belt on and its kind of short for under the arm fishing. I am thinking of extending the butt aroud 4" or so. On a new build I would think moving the real seat foward a few inches would balance and fi

I am curious about this as well. I am looking at the SW stuff to replace GUSA. Bloody decks board has had some positive posts about Phenix. -JOHN

It has been some time since I waxed the wraps. : ) Just thinking I would touch the lathe then the thread, next thing would be fish eye's. -JOHN

Wouldn't that increase the chance for contamination on the wraps? I have been very careful not to use waxes or silicones around the entire build area. Maybe I am just paranoid and its another way for me to waste my time. I would think a nice coat of Rejex would keep it pretty clean. Thanks, -JOHN

Billy, Yes, I understand the blanks will be part glass. Will you have any at the expo? The tip and I would think the entire blank would change if they did a heavy full graphite layup on the 708. How much would the estimated ship to central Fl. cost on a 7' blank? Thanks, -JOHN

Billy, Thanks for the reply. I was looking for something like a Monster Mag to fish 40# on an LX. I an sorry I waited so long. That seeker proto-type sounds a little stiff for this app. or maybe not. I was looking at the SS-CJBF70, but the specs look big and when i put it in my hands it is HUGE. Some food for thought, A all graphite, heavy wall lay up of the 708 would be a nice blan

So with GUSA at the very least in pause mode. What are the NERB's blank of choice? Is there any all Graphite blanks that are similar? Thanks!

No idea on that brand, but check out the Lakeland seats. Mudhole is a dealer and maybe some other board sponsers as well. -JOHN

Pete, Just a couple of quick ideas you may have already looked into. Have you set one of the machines as a DMZ (Nat pass-through) or hooked a laptop or something straight to the modem? If so, it may be a DNS issue with your IP. That is kinda of a wierd deal, if all the security stuff had been disabled. I am sure you will get some good advice. -JOHN

Spencer, Yes, it is just the fishing I am concerned with. I agree about pushing the limits on guides and I do have some BSVLG's that look like they are 3 times stonger than these NBRLC's. I guess I'll find out (LOL). Pics will follow if I crush them. Thanks , -JOHN

How heavy have you fished them or how are they holding up? I was going to use them on a rod that fishes 25lb - 30lb line. Its normal for me to push the limits of a guide and usually with good results. Now that I have them in my hands, they feel really lite or fragile I should say. I did Email American Tackle, but had not recieved a response. Any Info would help. Thanks, -JOHN

Kevin, Thanks, I will try and wrap from the guide foot onto the blank for the tie off. That sounds perfect. I think Toms method will work also, if I have trouble getting the threads to lay right comming off the guide. Yes, it is an offshore trolling rod (60lb line). Simon, Thanks for the links. I have seen Mr. Busi's work and a few others that do the guide that way. I thought that was th

Tom, That would probably work on this rod. I think that's a much better way. ("In all the rods I've built I've never incorporated both in the same wrap") Are you saying that normally you would complete the butt wrap (epoxy as well) And then wrap the guide as normal over the top? Thank you, -JOHN

Tom, Thanks for the response. I have not tied off the butt wrap yet and have to work the guide in where the foward foot will be loacted on the end of the butt wrap (over the tie off0. I guess I could use the same thread as the butt wrap underwrap, followed by the same guide wrap as the other guides for a somewhat bulky, but similar look. Option B, Tie off the wrap with the first guide wr

I just picked a GUSA up last week and it is as Tom described. Very slight at the tip, not nearly as off as the Calstar and Shikari I have here. I have no Idea if it's new or old inventory. If it is pretty straight overall, How would you guys build it? Spine or on the straight axis? It does have a very strong spine effect. It snaps really hard to one spot. Well harder then others I have spined

Ken, Not sure what you mean. It is a graphite body with gold lettering. The hood on this one looks frosted or SS. The model of the one I would like to replace is FPS-D18G and that is printed gold. A 20 would work great as well. Thanks, -JOHN
