I've done single thread inlays before but always useing ncp thread so the tag ends are'nt as critical. Can't imagine a rod built in "factory would take the time to get the ends cut so close so as not to be able to them through nylon with no cp though. It looks like a single band, my first thought was paint. Keith

I have a GLoomis rod with a wrap I figure out. The wrap is on single foot wire fly guides, the rod is mate black. The thread looks to be green nylon with no cp. In the middle of each wrap is what looks to be a single thread insert of silver but I can't see the tag ends of the silver. Iv'e looked with mag eyes and good lighting but can't see the ends. Any thoughts? Keith

I packed, rolled and burnished the threads as much as possible. The only place it is noticable is directly over the blank. Next time I'll try another coat of cp to see if it helps. If not??? Thanks all.

I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem. I did a chevron fade wrap on a rod, white to light blue, med blue, dark blue, and finished of with a single blue metallic. Applied cp let dry and applied the epoxy, (threadmaster). After I applied the epoxy, the white turned opaque on me and is dark on the parts directly wrapped on the blank. Do I need two or more coats of cp? Or, is it somet

Just posted a couple pink and purple rods I did. The blanks came from mudhole. I thought the pink ones were nice. Interested to see what you guys have to say. Keith

I just tried to put a label down between coats of Threadmaster and the dang thing curled up on me at the edges,(length wise), and would not go down. I tried using a black on clear Dymo label that wrapped about 2/3 around the blank. Did I not trim it small enough? Is it the type of label material? Anybody else run into this? Any input would help. Thanks Keith

Bob. The number you have for me in youre data base should be the correct one. It was after all just a couple of months ago that I purchased some items from you. If I don't hear from you Monday or Tuesday, I will give you a ring Wednesday.

Tom: I suspect it is his IS provider or it could be on my end as well, maybe both. Having dealt with Bob on a few other occasions,(just a couple months ago actually), I've always been more than happy with his service. Bob @ CTS: I was on Quest.net the last time I ordered from you but they have since kicked several customers over to the dreaded MSN.com. (Most of ours comes out of Canada) ;>)

Yep! That’s the E-Mail address I used, (both times). Maybe It's because my order was so small, (only a hundred bucks or so), that it's not worth there time. I will try the phone next Monday if I still haven’t heard back. Keith

I tried to place an order with CTS back in August. Got no E-Mail confirm and sent them an E-Mail stating this. Got no response from that either. Gave up and ordered my stuff from another sponsor, went on a nice long vacation came back and tried to order from them again. Guess what, no confirm, no reply to my e-mail enquiry AGAIN. I checked and Tennessee is still there including Shelbyville. I

George, I too usually fish spots that have large, (2-6 lb), trout and all I use is a 4wt. Big heavy streamers are a bit cumbersome but manageable. Actually I do most of my damage with small nymphs anyway.

I’ve encountered similar difficulty with the small ones. My cure is, I put UHMW on the jaws of a small electronics vise. It pivots to all angles, hold firm, and no scratches. Just my way. Keith

Has anyone seen the "pink" blanks from mudhole? How pink are they really. They don't look very pink on there web sight or in there catalog. I'm looking to do up a few pink, (bubblegum or Barbie pink), rods for a local shop and they want PINK. Thanks in advance Keith

What I've done in the past is put, (sand), a flat spot on the upermost section of the grip in 180 from the guides for the thumb. It is comfortable, does not add any weight, and eliminates the tendancy for twist. Keith

Personally, I would have to question what type of fishing your going to do? Dry"s, Nymphs, Streamers????? For dry's and poppers I prefer a 6 or 7 gen graphite, for emergers and nymph fishing I prefer a 5 gen. I like the 6/7 for top water because of the faster line pickup and casting accuracy, but like the 5 gen or even fiberglass for the more subtle work because they protect the tippet bette

25 thread count or so would do for starters. I really didn't have a name or anything in mind I just wanted to try it out to see if it's viable for me to pursue or not. I'm still new at this, but am very interested. I bought a video that shows how to make a pattern but thought something as common as letters and numbers would be almost public domain. Silly me. :) Keith

Somehow I stumbled upon the left list for the entire alphabet and now I can't seem to find it. I'm new, I'm on my 5th rod and almost done with my first butt wrap and I would like try a couple of simple weaves and figure this would be a good start. Any help would be appreciated Thanks in advance. Keith
