I just received some G. Loomis fly rod blanks.and all four are very crooked one a lot worst then the others. Would there be any problems with using these blanks? I got a bad feeling about giving these rods to my cutomers, just don't look good.

How many hours use should I get out of a GM 18 flex coat finishing motor? i have about 80 hours on one now should I get a back up or a better modle? I am starting to think that it may fail with a rod on it . any thoughts ? thank you Darren Tucker

I am a new rod builder , Just wondering were you would check the balance on 9ft 8wt fly rod is it at the handle or how far up the rod . I just made a 9ft 8wt fly rod on a tiger eye blank the rod will balance at 64cm or 25" from the very end of the fighting butt. Is this good or bad? Darren Tucker

i may not have explained myself good enough. but i have bought a lot of fly rod guides from a couple of guys who have retiered from rod building and also a sporting goods store that as closed and all the guides are mixed together i do not no what i have. i would like to know the IDs of both ceramic and wire snake guids so i can sort them out.thank you darren tucker

I made myself a spin casting rod but i used heat shrink tube as a under wrap. I did this because it makes it very easy to replace a broken guide. i tried it on old rod i had you replace the guide with out having to touch the blank. have anyone tried this what might happen in the long run ? seems to work fine.thank you darren tucker newfoundland, canada

I'am a new rod builder, just built my first but can't seem to get the finish to level out. I used flex coat lite build finish and a flex coat 18 rpm drier. I put on three light coats and sanded after each coat dried because it was not level any suggestions. thank you Darren Tucker
